How many of you all were diggin The System

I was diggin this duo back in the 80's. Remeber these jams:

You Are In My System
This Is For You
Don't Disturb This Groove

These two guys were very innovative and had a sound all there own. Mic Murphy had a kick ass vocal unlike anyone out back then. Anyone know what they are up to today?

"Heartbeat of the City" also had that stutter groove of "You Are In My System".

It's been written that they were producers or players on Chaka Khan's cover of Prince's "I Feel for You", Mtume's "Juicy Fruit", Phil Collins' "Sussudio" and Angela Bofill's "Can't Slow Down".

They supposedly disbanded 1989 however they released an album in 2K called "ESP".
Don't know how it sounds. Nice group while it lasted.

Cosign. "Don't Disturb This Groove" was and still is my jam. I listen to it even now, it is one song that I can never get sick of. music dancing jig

DON'T DISTURB THIS GROOVE
The System
(Murphy/Frank)

I'm in Heaven
Pay attention are you listening you're my favorite girl
Excuse me for the moment I'm in another world
On a mountain by a fountain
Flowers blooming everywhere
With Venus and Cupid the picture's very clear

Hang the sign upon the door say don't disturb this groove
Just a way to say that I'm so into you
And the feelings so real don't disturb this groove

Erotic whispers for the listener the passion starts again
And the lollipops and everything a little taste of sin
Causing fire and desire in this mortal soul to live
Till the angels fall from Heaven and the day the earth stood still

Hang a sign upon the door it says don't disturb this groove
Just a way to say that I'm so into you and the feeling's so real
Don't disturb this groove 'cause I want to tell you that I'm so into
you
And the feeling's so real don't disturb this groove

Close your eyes and let the music put you in the groove (can you feel
it)
Baby just lock the door and turn the phone off it's time it's time for
me and you
Are you ready yes

Hang the sign upon the door say don't disturb this groove
Just a way to say that I'm so into you and the feeling's so real
Don't disturb this groove 'cause I want to tell you that I'm so into
you
And the feeling's so real don't disturb this groove

'Cause we're grooving baby a-grooving baby
And I love it baby and I love it baby love it baby

I loved this group! My favorite song by them is "I Just Wanna Make You Feel Good". "This Is For You" was a jam as well, and so was their updated version of "You Are In My System" from their 2000 ESP album.

Their last album wasn't bad at all. I'd like to hear some more song-writing & production work from David Frank. He jump started Christina's career with Genie. First time I heard that song I thought it sounded like vintage Sytem.

You know, I seem to remember that song "This is For You". Didn't the lyrics go, in part, "This is for you...it's the most I can do..."? Now that I think about it, it sounded like a song that The System would release.
