I don't think I'll be buying this album, as things are. I'll download it and if I like more than 5 tracks, I'll purchase it. I really love Janet and own tons of her stuff, but I guess I'm not as devoted as members like JanFan4L or VelvetRoper. I can't convince myself that either of these singles are hot. And so far the promotional strategy makes it sound like the people at Virgin heard the album and said "oh shit, what the fuck do we do with this?". As things are, I think with each passing day this project looks more and more like Janet's American Life. "Just A Little While" peaked at no. 45, which is abominable for an artist of Janet's stature. "I Want You" is struggling on the R&B singles chart (it hasn't even charted on the Hot 100). 2 videos and 2 first singles - Virgin is desperate. Which one to air, which one is which? The public is rejecting this project. Radio producers are openly laughing at JALW on the air ("It sounds like a jingle for some two-bit restaurant in southern Texas"). Virgin would be sensible to delay it a month, release a good single (or does one not exist, perhaps?) and give it a chance. Otherwise, it's doomed to long-term failure. But so what? Janet will come back with a bang if this does indeed tank. She'll have to work to rebuild her casual fan base, but in can be done. [This message was edited Sat Mar 13 11:47:34 2004 by VoicesCarry] i really dont like the fact that you so easily admit that your going to download five tracks off an album...i dont care who the artist is, its a bad judge of character on your part... Uh, it's called previewing the album before you buy it? I delete the tracks if I hate it. I spend tons of $$$$ on CDs, so who are you tell me that it's wrong to preview it that way? I do NOT keep the tracks on my computer. If I buy the album, I rip my own mp3s. But yes, I will share OUT OF PRINT discs with other fans I know. I do not see how that cuts into the artist's profit-margin, considering the items are no longer available for sale. And while you're at it, why don't you go lecture the price-fixing, low-royalty, anti-artistic-development record labels. [This message was edited Sun Mar 14 14:33:40 2004 by VoicesCarry]

Damn, I haven't even SEEN the video (just stills) and I'm not really a fan, but that's exactly what I was thinking when I saw the pics from the video. Thank god they are not releasing this video in the US. I hope the video for "I Want You" is better...though I am certain that song will not be a hit for her either. I just don't get it...why are they releasing songs that are weak singles? the videos dull and boring but cute, i remember janet saying in some interview that she prefers her comeback videos to be kinda chilled and kinda ease her way back in rather than a dramatic flashy video. saying that the last amazing janet video i can think of is scream, the rest were just really good or watchable (with a few exceptions from velvet rope). for me i dont really like janet videos anymore or music vides in general as all they are about is pouting and showing off your body, thats why i prefer live performances cos im more into the dancing
it reminded me of the doesnt really matter video only not as good, the guy in it isnt that cute, theres no dancing, theres no real plot but its sweet i guess. janet looks good, looks like shes put on quite a bit of weight which i think suits her, in AFY she was looking kinda guant at times.

Ok...so...I downloaded a few songs from the album becuase I was nervous for the project...and its AWESOME! Every song I have heard is really good and I don't know why they chose JALW and IWY as singles...those songs are the weakest from what I've heard. I am really excited now!!!
I saw the video last night for IWY and thought it was good...I think I like it because I know there is a solid album coming from her. If I saw that video a month ago, I would probably feel let down. But its nice not seeing some over the top video with a lot of costumes, heavy make-up, and trendy clothing (like A4U....or that horrible JALW). She looks very pretty and the video is a nice compliment to the song. But the album....WOW! THis is going to be a good one! I am waiting to buy it and will not download any other trackings.....though I am dying to!

I had to control myself not to listen to any of the songs, but I decided to satiate my Janet craving by picking one and listening to it... I listened to "All Night (Don't Stop)"... and it's incredible! It is soooo, sooooo good, and I listened to it all night! And, judging from the samples, all of the songs seem to be better than the singles! Janet and Virgin really had bad judgement on those, I'm surprised!
