Watch the "Just a Little While" Video Here!

I really like it! Janet is funny and adorable in it! It's very tounge-in-cheek, but it's "cheesy good fun".

Ehh.....not one of my favourite Janet videos. It's basically just shots of Janet running around her apartment with a) her friends or b) some Generic Latin Guy (GLG) they got to play the love interest. Spliced in are shots of GLG licking lips while watching Janet on TV (you can really tell what they farmed out to the unit directors, huh?). In fact, I'd have to say that this is probably her worst video since "Because Of Love".

Another notch in the belt of Virgin's moronic promotional staff.

Well, it's definitely not one of her best, but it's really cute, and that was the intent.

VelvetRoper, good lookin' out! thumbs up!

nutty That's a cool little video! Favorite scene: Janet, Bucky and the Kids dancing and goofing around the camcorder. Love it. Was that our first glimpse of Jan's alter-ego Strawberry nibbling on the fruit in that one scene? I don't think we've seen the last of her. Possible character in the upcoming world tour? We'll see.

well, i have to say, i'm a little disappointed with the video. it's a great 3rd video, you know what i mean? it's fun and i like it...as will most janet fans...but i don't think it will cause people to run out to the record store or anything. i don't know what i was hoping for but that wasn't it. oh well. i guess i can't have it my way ALL the time, lol!

i just can't wait for the new cd to drop! i'm so excited...for the record and tour! AHHH...19 more days!

poor janet..the song is worthy being a minor hit but....that video ruins it...trying to hard....and those clothes..and that wig? oye!!

she should have been in a classy adult outfit and had a bjorkish video..people would have died and said this song rocked!! with a weak video, blah!!

Eh, it's a throwaway, fun little pop song. No need to make a trillion dollar super serious Bjork-ish video for it.

actually..bjork's videos arent that expensive...artist flock to work with her because its a creative artistic collaberation....

and with that i just realized how silly it was for me to recommend janet do something similiar.....she hasnt seemed interested in reinventing videos since "love will never do"...

damn, janet used to break it down in videos.....nasty, when i think of you, pleasure principle...all the 1814 videos.....then she got all cheap after "thats the way love goes" worked so well.....i thought it was rene's influence....but then after that *all* the videos became pedestrian....save for Scream, Anywhere, Anytime and Got Til Its Gone....

I really liked the video at first but then I got kind of sick of it. It's only four mintues long but I could only get into it for the first minute. I think maybe the first skit was the only good one (best look!) and then when I realized what the video was going to be, I got kind of sick of it. I want the "I Want You" video!

Yeah, before I saw the pictures from the video shoot, I pictured the video to kinda look similar to the "Someone to Call My Lover" video because the songs remind me of each other.

Whoever said Janet dont make good video's better get the boot. What about "Runaway" "All 4 U""If" "Son Of A Gun" (little dark and weird, but cool and different 4 her).

Got damn i wish she made a video for "What About" dammit.

Who said she doesn't make good videos? Obviously they don't know what they're talking about!

And to add to your list, what about "Alright", "Love Will Never Do", "The Pleasure Principle", "You Want This", "Love Will Never Do", "Any Time, Any Place", "Miss You Much", "Rhythm Nation"... the list goes on & on! wink

My goodness, Janet broke it down with the TVR project. "Go Deep," "I Get Lonely," "Together Again," and "Got 'Til It's Gone" -- those videos were amazing. I still watch them to this day. I even liked "Doesn't Really Matter" and I still love the "All For You" video, the breakdown dance sequence on Sunset Boulevard cannot be forgotten! I LOVE THE WAY THAT SONG OPENS UP -- 4, 3, 2, 1 ::"Glow of Love" beat::" Talk about some velvet euphoria! Hell, "Someone To Call My Lover" also gets repeat spins when I pull out the AFY DVD Edition. That's a great video, as well.

"Just A Little While" is a cool little video. No hateration over here at all!

OH SH*T, you took me back! It was all over for me when I was watching TRL (*gasp*) back in '01, Carson Daly was like "here's a five-second sneak peek of Janet Jackson's new video" and then they showed the now-classic Sunset Blvd. breakdown scene. I damn near fell out of my chair like Damon Wayans on "My Wife & Kids" -- closest analogy I could come up with lol.

Also, when Janet was on 106&Park and they played snippets of "Trust A Try" and "You Ain't Right" (keep in mind this is the first time I ever heard it) I was like "nutty nutty nutty"

Lol, I'll never forget my first Janet concert memory! I was in the 4th grade and my father bought me my first Janet tickets. We had ninth row seats, and I went with my mom. It was just one of the most awesome experiences! There are no words for it!

The next day, I brought my tour book to school, and I had a really elderly teacher, Mrs. Jaussi, who took a look at the pictures. She almost had a heart attack when she saw the ones where Janet and her kids were in nothing but jeans!

I know she isn't, because both of her hands are shown, but in the very beginning of this video, doesn't it look like she's "polishing her pearl"?

I think this is a horrible video...especially for the first one off a new album...very half-assed and a total waste. I am soooo bummed the way things are going with this project. She has the opportunity to take it to the next level considering all eyes are on her now....and she releases a weak song and video. I think this may be the worst video she has ever done...along the lines of "Go Deep" and "Because of Love".

Thank god they are not releasing this video in the US. I hope the video for "I Want You" is better...though I am certain that song will not be a hit for her either. I just don't get it...why are they releasing songs that are weak singles? Maybe she does not care about the charts at this point in her career...thought I know she is a very competitive person by nature.

Does it require a rocket scientist to guide Virgin/janet on what kind of single they should release to launch an album? Geeez!

There are several possible reasons:

a) Virgin is a company full of dumbasses (probable).

OR

b) The album just isn't so hot after all, and this really is the best they have (possible...every artist has a downturn at one time or another).

OR

c) Some combination of both.

I don't think I'll be buying this album, as things are. I'll download it and if I like more than 5 tracks, I'll purchase it. I really love Janet and own tons of her stuff, but I guess I'm not as devoted as members like JanFan4L or VelvetRoper. I can't convince myself that either of these singles are hot. And so far the promotional strategy makes it sound like the people at Virgin heard the album and said "oh shit, what the fuck do we do with this?".

As things are, I think with each passing day this project looks more and more like Janet's American Life. "Just A Little While" peaked at no. 45, which is abominable for an artist of Janet's stature. "I Want You" is struggling on the R&B singles chart (it hasn't even charted on the Hot 100). 2 videos and 2 first singles - Virgin is desperate. Which one to air, which one is which? The public is rejecting this project. Radio producers are openly laughing at JALW on the air ("It sounds like a jingle for some two-bit restaurant in southern Texas"). Virgin would be sensible to delay it a month, release a good single (or does one not exist, perhaps?) and give it a chance. Otherwise, it's doomed to long-term failure.

But so what? Janet will come back with a bang if this does indeed tank. She'll have to work to rebuild her casual fan base, but in can be done.

Sorry, it just doesn't strike me as first-single material. To be honest I find her voice sounds pretty weak on it (and it sounds bland when you compare it to something like "You Don't Know My Name").
