if you like great hard rock artists, check out the german metal chick doro. she is fierce, wild, & mild all at once. if you want something relatively mellow & jazzy, then try emaily bezar. her music is in the cool tradition of a tori amos or a kate bush. last but not least, get david ryan harris if you prince 7 jeff buckley. hope this is helpful. namepeace said: Since my collection is dominated by Prince, jazz, hip-hop, electronica/nu jazz, and "old school," I want to see if you guys can pitch some rock bands to me. I already have these artists in my collection:
Hendrix AC/DC Kiss Nirvana Steely Dan The Police U2 I also have some stuff from the Clash, Jeff Buckley, and others. So tell me about 3 artists, past or present, that I should check out, and why. I'm all ears. | |

you have to pick up 'Truth and soul' Weapon of choice - 'Bozo the town' and 'Hiperspice' 24-7 spyz - Strength in numbers all of three of these bands are a hybrid of funk and rock, but shouldn't be overlooked. I love Fishbone, but I didn't really like "Give a Monkey a Brain....". I like their earlier stuff the best. go ahead and pick this one up, too... the best damn band to come out of the 90s in my opinion... the perfect blending of punk and country... one of the greatest debut albums of all-time... i just picked up the remastered with bonus tracks version of this cd, and there isn't a bad thing to say about it...
