Old School Hip-Hop/Rap Track Of The Day(3/08/04)...Whodini-Friends(1984)

Time to take you back to 1984...with the dripping jheri-curl juice and all of that.....This was the first big hit for this rap duo consisting of Jalil Hutchins and John "Ectasy" Fletcher. This used to slam back hard back in tha day!!!!

Friends...how many of us have them...Friends...ones we can depend on....let's be friends".

Enjoy,
Brother 9/15

maaan.... Whodini were cool and the Escape album from 1984 really somthing slammin'!

actually they had a hit before that (at least here in Europe, guess it was the same in the states) "The haunted house of Rock" made quite some impact (as much as a rap track could back in '83...) I used to include this shit on the first hiphop compilation tapes I put togehter for friends & family... dang those were the days headbang

it seems I was one of those 10 people who actually bought the Open Sesame album, hehe lol but I'm pretty sure they released 1 or 2 CDs after that, I don't have them anyway, guess no European release
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

talkin' on the telephone for hours at a time
or else I was at your house, or you was at mine
then came the arguments and all kinds of problems
besides makin' love, we had nothin' in common
it couldn't last long because it started out strong
but I guess we went about the whole thing wrong
'cause out of nowhere it just came to an end
because we became lovers before we were friends
sad

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
