Interesting note about Soundscan

I have long been suspect of soundscan and how chart positions are decided by this one system. Im not sure if everyone knew this BUT all those internet sites like AMAZON CD universe etc.. and all those 1-800 numbers that are on latenite TV are NOT counted in Soundscan Numbers and have no bearing on chart positions.

Really? Because no less an authority than Billboard claimed at the very least online sales were counted in an article not too far back.

Yes, but R&B albums have a separate chart as well. In one of his columns, Fred Bronson said that online sales DO count towards the Billboard 200, but they're almost negligible anyway (5000 units for the #1).
