Super 70s Album Track Of The Day(3/05/04)...Lou Rawls-There Will Be Love(1977)

Gamble And Huff REALLY should have released this beauty of a track as a single. From the album When You Hear Lou,You've Heard It All, this song has one of those unorthodox grooves that Gamble And Huff can pull out of their sleeves almost at will. My musical rule of thumb has always been if you got a great song(lyrics), a great vocalist, great musicans and great producers...then the results can't be anything but great....and this song surely proves this.

Gamble and Huff were in the zone in the 70's....and you can add this amazing track to the list of their great musical successes. And Lou for his part delivers a masterful vocal performance....All you vocalists out there, this song is a great lesson on how to lay down vocals.....smooth, powerful(but not too powerful, style and grace. Put yourself into the song but not so much until you end up doing it.....Lou was a master at balancing all of these out. Go dig this out and play it...the results here will be worth your search.

"As long as there is you....as long as there is me.....There will be love"

Enjoy,
Brother 9/15
