Super 70's Pop Song Of The Day(3/05/04)...Carly Simon-You Belong To Me(1978) This song reminds of that West Coast California sound that was popular during during the late 70's. Produced by Arif Mardin, this song has a nice vibe and laid-back flow to it. From the album Boys In The Streets, Carly gets some vocal assistance from Michael McDonald.
" Why'd you tell me this Were you looking for my reaction What do you need to know Don't you know I'll always be your girl You don't have to prove to me you're beautiful to strangers I've got loving eyes of my own (Chorus) You belong to me Tell her you were fooling You don't even know her Tell her that I love you" Enjoy, Brother 9/15 [This message was edited Fri Mar 5 5:52:52 2004 by BRO915]

Near the end,she says "Don't leave me to go to her" and I used to think she was singing "Don't leave me to go to HELL"...lol...
But yeah, this is a superb song from 1978.If I'm not mistaken,it was co-written by Michael McDonald, who also sings backup.
