Just focus on making good music...that's all that is needed. Strive for the title of ARTIST.

And re: your comments about Eminem, I provide the following evidence: Run DMC, TUPAC (!!!!), Dr Dre, Tone Loc, Kurtis Blow, etc. etc. Members of the majority were listening to and loving rap WAY before Eminem came along. Tupac especially was a massive seller and his music has touched many people.
