I remember in 1973,going with my mother to the record store and she bought the 'Let's Get It On' album.It was played CONSTANTLY in our house.I was only four years old,but I knew that album inside and out...lol....going around the house singing every song.

"Come Get To This" is one of those soulful gems that makes you long for the 70s,when soul music was actually "soulful".Marvin's vocals are just breathtaking and there weren't too many singers who could top him.

I could discuss Marvin Gaye all day long!

Great song from a great album.

I think Distant Lover is my fave from that album.

Also, I hope Here, My Dear gets the remastered treatment soon. Then all his four classic albums will be done.

greeat track and the album of course is just W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L !!! still one of the best records to put on for those special intimate moments

whats going on, is a very spiritual and prophetic album, it was on Motown's shelf for about 2 years before they released it, because of the "scary Content" of the album being Marvin saw the Future, Marvin stated " i didnt write this album God did" something Higher guided Marvin 2 release this wonderful Masterpiece about today's society.

he was still reeling from the death of Tammi and still in seclusion when he wrote and recorded this album.

But to answer your question....I love the 'What's Going On' album.It's one of the strongest concept albums of all-time.The lyrics are brutally honest and sincere and the lush instrumentation is just incredible.Marvin was at the top of his game with that record,and it baffles me why Berry Gordy was afraid to release it.I guess he expected Marvin to enter the 70s making those catchy,radio-friendly singles like "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You"....lol...thank goodness that common sense prevailed and the album was released.

When I first heard this track.....I thought it came out in the 60's. Then my uncle was playing the 8-track and I found out it was on this album. Great song!!!!

Those early singles were great, though.
But it was almost as if Motown were unwilling to let their artists evolve. Stevie Wonder had issues with them as well.
