No live instruments for Neptunes (NERD) CD..

Pharell said that they arent having their band Spymob in their album again like in the classic "In Search Of.." and are going back 2 the frum machines. What the hell is wrong with him?

i thought they were playing the instruments themselves this time around? it's a shame about them not using spymob, though.

I think what they meant was that they're still going to have the live instruments, but just without Spymob playing them. Pharrell will play the drums/keys while Chad covers the keys/guitar.

I actually prefered the first version of In Search Of... with their "signature" Neptunes sound versus the one with Spymob. The second version was kind of boring to me. You just can't take a funky track like "Tape You" and add live instruments to it, IMO.

Was Spymob dropped from Star Trak? They were supposed to drop a debut CD for the longest of time. Did Spymob ever release a debut? They always looked so sad when they were on stage performing behind Pharrell's domineering ahh!

I am looking forward to teh cd!I wonder if Spymob left because of lack of attention.I can't imagine that with being in everyone's video, producing so many hip hop and r&b tracks, and doing teh NERD thing that they had time to truly devote toa rock band that wants their own identity."it's probably a good move for them.Kelis left her first deal, too and stopped having them produce every single track.

NERD will use live instruments.Don't worry.

The word in the industry is that Pharell is a "punk" to work with...Kelis had a falling out with him also.

Actually Star Track is being disected among different labels now. They are no longer distrubuted through Arista. Check this article from MTV News...

Ok. "okaypimpin..."Tape U" is way better live. Their instrumentation is boring and dated big time.

Spymob performed a couple of their trax and handed out free CD's 2 the audience, i wasnt really diggin it all that much...
