Cee-lo Green is the Soul Machine

Haven't seen anything on the board about this album. Are y'all sleeping on this? "All Day Love Affair" is the best song of 2004 thus far. Anyone else feeling this song and/or album?

Most definitely! clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping

Although I don't really agree with the content he's rappin' on "Scrap Metal," it shows his versatillity in what used to be labeled as "Gangsta Rap." Not to mention the beat is hard as hell!!!! headbang Not to take anything away from his debut, but this album is waaaaay better, IMO. Plus, it also helps that he's from the "A"!!!! wink

P.S. Khujo, T-Mo and Gipp need to quit frontin' like they don't need Cee-Lo in the group. They need to get it together and call him back because without him they're nothing.

Cee-lo was on Hot 97 this morning. When I heard the name of the album it made me smile. Anyway, I think it was Sway who asked about record sales. But, I think he might have been referring to a previous album. Anyway, Cee-lo said that it almost went gold; it sold about 370,000 units. Sway wanted to know if CL was okay with those numbers, considering that there are rap artists who go platinum. CL gave a humble and philosophical reply (which I can't remember). Sway said, that was a "pyschological reponse." Miss Info said something like "Yeah, that was a philosophical answer." Last part of the interview I heard was Sway calling CL the "Socrates" of rap.

And no, guess I've been sleeping on this one.

Yeah, his first album, Cee-Lo Green and his Perfect Imperfections, didn't do too well.

I'm actually surprised L.A. Reid didn't drop him like he did the rest of Goodie MOb with this album. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that great either. I think he figured he could pull a Lauryn Hill and produce the entire album himself, but he was still pretty much a novice.

However, with this album he allowed The Neptunes, Jazzie Pha, DJ Premier, Organized Noize and Timbaland to produce some tracks for him, which has worked out very well. thumbs up!

This was my first one. Almost bought his last but just wasn't feeling enough of the tracks. This one is much stronger all the way through.

I bought the first album but never got into it that much. Loved about 4 songs on there but never really got into anything else. Is "The Soul Machine" a better album and thus worth buying? Thanks in advance.

I especially love his soulful voice and how he changed up the song a bit. This album is definitely worth coping. Run to your nearest Wrecka Stow and buy it!!!! thumbs up!
