Actually, I heard he's been in and out of therapy for most of his life due to his abandonment/death of his father at a young age. I just recently, however, found out about his breakdown and was wondering if it's related to this or something else.

Umm....I don't think 3 platinum studio albums and 1 gold live album and a HUGE single "Fortunate" AFTER the first album is "bombing" (And if you don't believe me look it up on the RIAA website).Especially since the third one..released in 2000 went to number 1 on the Billboard charts...but that's just my humble opinion. As far as the breakdown goes..I've never heard anything about it other than it being a rumor. I do know he has taken up drinking alcohol recently as evidenced by his Latin People interview.And he's being looking a little rough in the recent pictures I've seen of him.

None of the other music sites that I frequently visit have such a continuous flood of people who apparently have no idea of what is considered successful and what is not. its so weird, what happens to people when they become successful. you keep it together for so long while trying to make it. you work your ass off to get there and then you get all flaky once you've succeeded. if any of this is true...alcohol, breakdowns, etc...i hope he pulls it together. i really think he may have been my favorite to come out of the 90's and that's saying a lot because there at the end of the decade, a lot of great performers were starting to emerge. maxwell's live shows were fantastic. his records...yes, all of them, even embrya...were brilliant. i look forward to more from him.
