Rumored North American tour dates for Madonna's summer tour

Not sure if this is true, but you never know...

"Ok...so this was forwarded to me from a friend of mine who works for CBC in Toronto. She's not a Madonna fan,but she sent this to me because she knew I was.According to her this is something currently being discussed as a proposed tour schedule for North America.Could it be real? Who knows---never thought M would do Minneapolis...but do note the breaks in betweeen, allowing for multiple shows.Even if it is fake,it's something to savour over until something is confirmed from Madonna herself."

May 8 Oakland (Oakland Arena)
May 12 Los Angeles (Staples Center)
May 17 Phoenix (America West Arena)
May 20 Houston (Toyota Center)
May 24 Fort Lauderdale (National Car Rental Center)
May 28 Atlanta (Philips Arena)
May 29 Las Vegas (MGM Grand Garden)---tickets go on-sale at end of March!!
May 30 Las Vegas (MGM Grand Garden)---tickets go on-sale at end of March!!
June 1 Washington DC (MCI Center)
June 6 NYC (Madison Square Garden)
June 13 East Rutherford (Continental Airlines Arena)
June 17 Philadelphia (Wachovia Center)
June 22 Boston (Fleet Center)
June 27 Montreal (Bell Center)
July 1 Toronto (Air Canada Center)
July 5 Detroit (Palace Of Auburn Hills)
July 8 Chicago (United Center)
July 12 Minneapolis (Target Center)

Information on the Vegas ticket sales can be found at www.Ticketvision.com

***I still can't believe that Madonna might START her tour in my area! It's odd for any artist to start a tour on the West Coast;usually, this is one of the LAST stops on a world tour.Oh well,I'm not complaining.

***Presumably, after these dates, she will begin the European leg of the tour. Her spokesperson Liz Rozenberg has just confirmed that Maddy is also planning to play a few dates in Israel.

***An insider has revealed that "Nobody Knows Me" will indeed be the opening song (just as I predicted a few weeks ago).

1993, I think... the "Dangerous Tour". Right before the first scandal. He quit mid-tour due to "addiction to painkillers"... remember?

Did he tour after that? I don't think so... some hit and miss dates, but tour? No.

Like I said,he's too lazy to tour lol

A few years ago,he said that he really doesn't enjoy touring, living out of a suitcase, etc.Too bad he doesn't realize that touring is PART OF HIS JOB...lol...

Are you gonna catch the Madonna gig? I guess L.A. would be closest to where you're at?

Madonna to become Queen Solomon?

Pop superstar Madonna is set to perform a sensational one-off concert in Israel's historical King Solomon's Mine which will be specially filmed for a DVD.

The singer is currently planning a world tour and has scheduled a special concert in the archaeological remains of Timna National Park, north of Eliat,in the Red Sea Desert.

The historic area, which is the world's oldest copper mine, has witnessed mining sicne the ancient Egyptians owned Israel 6,000 years ago.

The site is believed to have been the site where Israel's wise and legendary monarch King Solomon, who died in 926 BC,mined copper nearly 3000 years ago.

Her unusual decision to perform in the country is said to have been inspired by her and husband Guy Ritchie's devotion to the Kabbalah,a mystical branch of Judaism.

Madonna will be the first big name to sing in the park.Relative-unknown French singer Daniel Levi performed there in August last year.

Madonna's spokeswoman,Liz Rosenberg, adds the concert is still in the initial planning stages: "Nothing's definite right now".

It's a bummer that she's playing Chicago on July 8.I'll actually be in Chi-town at the end of that month and it would have been cool to see her, while I'm already on vacation.

Oh well,I'll definitely be at the Oakland shows (I'm sure she will play two nights) and possibly one of the L.A. shows (I think she did four or five LA shows in 2001).What's cool is,she's starting the tour in my area so I'll be one of the first people with a full review with all the details...lol...

I definitely hope it's true! I'd love to see her from better than the way way way back, like I did for Drowned World. OF course, it looks like I'll have to travel for it this time.

lol

I was literally the SECOND ROW from the top of the stadium in DC. I was directly in front of the stage to (as opposed to being on the side) so I was about as far away as you could get there...

I'm getting better tickets this time!

I was either in 2nd or third row from the top also! But in Vegas. I was kinda off to the side, where I could see some off the backstage stuff. Interesting, but a really SUCKY way to see an Idol for the first time!!! I'll definitely pay for better seats this time -- maybe in Minneapolis! wink

Not to brag or anything, but when Madonna brought her Drowned World tour to my area (September 5 and 6,2001),I had EXCELLLENT seats for the first night.I was in section 116 at the Oakland Arena, which is just to the left of the stage. It wasn't the floor seats, just a few levels up.I had a GREAT view. For the second show on Sep.6,I had nosebleed seats but I didn't really care.I was just thrilled to be there, and I couldn't believe that I was able to get tickets for both shows.

This time,I'm gonna try my best to get good seats again lol

The last full scale US Tour Mike did was The Bad Tour in 1988...which went all over the United States.....This tour which I attended really found Mike at the top of his game.

Another exclusive update from a "reliable source" on Peter Rauhofer's official site..

"Madonna's next tour concept won't be as heavy or as dark as the previous. She's pulling out "Lucky Star","Live To Tell","Like A Prayer" and "Into The Groove" to see how they fit into the show, which is basically a trip through time.Different eras will be visited from the early 20s jazz clubs to the trashed-out clubs of the 80s.Patrick Leonard and Joe Henry are on-board,musically.And the man behind her last tour's choreography (Jamie King) is back also.Montreal and Toronto are on the itinerary, but deals are still being worked out. She's confirmed for Toronto,San Franciso,Scotland,Israel and Italy. That's all I know".

So,let's look at the songs that are rumored to be part of the setlist (based on reports from other insiders)...

"Die Another Day"---this performance will be an agressive tango between Maddy and a male dancer
"Lucky Star"
"Live To Tell"
"Like A Prayer"
"Don't Tell Me"---this is the only song from 'Music' that will be performed, and it will be a radically different version
"Love Profusion"
"Easy Ride"
"Nobody Knows Me"---the rumored opening song
"Hollywood"

lol sounds like it's shaping up to be a kickass Greatest Hits tour

The setlist is still in the planning stage and I don't think she's picked all the songs she's gonna perform. But if she didn't sing "Music",that'll be okay with me.It's a great song, but for this tour,I want her to sing mostly songs that she DIDN'T do the last time around.

Songs we DON'T need to hear live:

-Hollywood
-American Life
-I'm So Stupid
-Easy Ride

And she did "Don't Tell Me" the last time out. "Music" should be trotted out because it's one of her classics, and this IS a "classics" tour.

Weirdly, of the "hits" from music, I'd rather hear "Don't Tell Me" than "Music"....

I also hope that she doesn't do IIIII'm So Stupid...that songs drives me nuts

I agree,I'd rather hear "Don't Tell Me" instead of "Music" too.

VC,how come you don't wanna hear "Easy Ride" on this tour? That's one of the strongest songs from 'American Life'.But I agree with your other choices, except for "Hollywood".That's a great song that will work well on a tour like this.

Because I want to hear her cover 20 years of her HITS. The Drowned World Tour was full of too many album tracks, so now we deserve the hits.

Easy Ride would have been fine, if this were the American Life Tour. But it's not.

And Hollywood and Die Another Day, while good songs, do not exactly stand up well when you perform them alongside tracks such as "Like A Prayer" and "Secret". Evidence: "Like A Virgin" was more interesting than "Hollywood" at the VMAs last year. So cut them, and do a straight hits tour. It would be a crime to waste any time on AL album tracks.
