Toxic by Britney Spears

is some well crafted/produced pop music. Very very nice.

well, if you listen to the variations in the mix and that slimy bass line... its much much better than all her past singles except for her first one.

there's really cool details like: in the intro, the last titme the little string line comes on its doubled with a very strangely effected version of the stringline.

I dont' really feel "Toxic" myself but "Me Against The Music" was HORRIBLE! Just reinforces the fact that Madonna's presence doesn't save shit from being shit anymore.

What's funny about this song is,you can't even really hear her vocals. But I guess that's a good thing, right? LOL.The music is the real highlight of this song.

You think it's that redeeming? I would argue that "Slave 4 U" is Britney's best record.

I think that this is her first decent single.

The first time I heard it at a club, the deejay said it was Britney and I thought he was full of shit!!

Very, very addictive song, though. Rad to dance to.

Both this tune & slave 4 u kick ass. Far better than anything else she's done.

I agree. I think the track is well done overall. I bet if someone other than Britney was singing on it people would like it more.

I know, right? I'm like "damn, y'all really like that song." It's not even special to me.

But you KNOW if JJ put out this record, you'd be screaming that it's off the chain.

Yeah let's be honest, when's the last time Janet had anything remotely as good out?

a decade? longer?

Just calling it as i see it! shrug

That is a good one. I love "Overprotected". My sister has the "Britney" CD and it's really good. It imitates a lot of the upbeat stuff from Janet's "All For You". "Toxic" is catchy but overall that CD is pretty crappy. I don't believe I bought it!

Britney's blackest song to date is "I'm A Slave 4 U." Still a jam. Them muthaf**as were working in that video! Shhh. Them dancers earned their spots. ::"haa..haa...haa...haa":: LOL!

another post mentioned the fact why us non-britney-people can enjoy Toxic is because some backing singer named, Kathy Dennis???, is singing most of the song. kinda like in Glitter when mariah's vocals are brought to the front and the Vanity clone's are pushed back . . .

you're tox-ic - i'm slipping un-der . . .

it's a good song . . .
music is its own reward - Sting

it sad when the backup singer has a better voice than the supposed artist. disbelief

that's like when ashanti was singing for j.lo on 'ain't it funny'. i mean your voice has to be pretty fucking awful if they use ashanti's voice to cover it.

Actually, Cathy Dennis has a pretty good voice. Melding your vocals with Britney's will make them sound like shit no matter who you are.

i wasn't commenting on cathy davis' voice, i was commenting on ashanti's voice being used to cover j.lo's. i feel bad for cathy davis having to sing back up for britney. poor thing...
