I remember this. Summer of 1976 stands out because I can remember hearing it in my cousin's boyfriend's van with the CB radio! [This message was edited Tue Mar 2 10:55:50 2004 by UptownDeb]

You've got an old soul, Harle! I remember Barbara Mason. But, what I can't remember if she sang that club classic "Another Man." (I've been thinking about this song lately.) Goes something like: Caught in the middle I don't know what to do What do you do when your man's been untrue There's another man Beating my time Or, something like that. See her man, is seeing another man. She picks up little things like the part where she goes, "An he was switchin' more that I was!" Hey, org DJ's help a sister out with this one!

A well-done collection originally recorded in the early ‘80s under the charge of Butch Ingram, who plays off of both of Mason's personas, the sweet & innocent and the mature woman. The Philadelphian's remake of Smokey Robinson's "The Agony and the Ecstasy" is worth the cost of the CD alone; when Mason sings the word "agony," you feel it in your bones. "Winter Love" features a recitation before blooming into a beautiful ballad. The Mason/Ingram composition "Don't I Ever Cross Your Mind" has it all: lyrics, hooks, vocals, accompaniments — the works. She gloats for nearly eight minutes about being the outside woman on "She's Got the Papers (But I Got the Man)" and answers it with "Another Man." One worth seeking out. — Andrew Hamilton
