Janet's hosting & performing on Saturday Night Live! Yup! This is the first time she'll host, and I cannot wait! April 10th, guys!
And for you Janet fans, check out www.miss-janet.com for the itinerary for her promotional tour, including dates for Letterman, 106th & Park, Soul Train Awards, and Ryan Seacrest! I hope she doesn't go on Larry King again with the asshole questions he asks: "So have you considered acting?" "Is he a real cowboy or just an actor?" "Have you ever met Michael's kids?". The new Janet era is finally here! I'm such a dork when it comes to new Janet, but what can I say? This is what makes me happy!

U forgot, "Well Miss Jackson, when will u be Mrs. Jackson, and will you keep the name Jackson? Or "Can you BELIEVE this tug-o-war going on between these suspenders and my shoulders!?!" SNL should B great!

Just goes to show you the whole nipple-gate flap will help her in the end. You really think she would be hosting SNL if not for that? Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance

If Janet does indeed go on and host SNL this will be good public relations for her. It'll shed some humor on the situation and get more people on her team (mainly conservative fussbudgets and those oh-so-needed "casual" consumers that go out and buy records). When is the taping happening? I want tickets. Where can I get tickets to SNL? Is it too late?

i hope janet pulls off an effective campaign for this album..and i hope the album is actually good...
but the whole nipplegate and first single have me concerned...she is treading madonna "american life" territory here and im afraid this album is gonna tank. Space for sale...

Lol, I see your point but I don't think the conservative fussbudgets are going to be enlightened by an SNL skit.

What's your problem with comparing Madonna and Janet, exactly? They are two different women, yes - that's the point of comparison. Comparing Madonna and Janet does not detract from either. It is interesting to compare this album to American Life because the labels are doing similar shitty promotion and the first single for each was/is a flop at pop radio. while Janet's second is IMHO mediocre ("Hollywood", too). This album has all the hallmarks of something that will open with a bang but be banished quickly (just like AL, coincidentally) because they released the WRONG singles. Apparently, "third single's the charm" does not apply to salvaging your album. [This message was edited Mon Mar 1 17:16:20 2004 by VoicesCarry]

Let's see: Madonna & Janet - both female pop stars who make great pop music -both have been around since the early 80s -both know how to change their styles to suit changing tastes -both are strong, independent women and are impeccable businesswomen -both push the envelope every now and then NKOTB: -those guys from the 80s who did that one song you liked but can't remember the title of now. You see?

It's safe to assume that he believes Nipplegate is not typical of Janet and so is a sign of desperation on her part considering the problems with the first 2 singles, just like Madonna's pointless attention-grabbing Britney kiss (desperation!). And that is a valid point. And while many claim that "Just A Little While" wasn't meant to be released, there are promo pressings dated January 22, 2004 and as early as January 15, 2004, indicating that Virgin intended this to be released way before Janet's Super Bowl appearance and the leak. Janet really said that,I'll dig around and try to find the exact article/interview/source.I also remember a Vibe magazine interview from 1994 where she criticzied the 'Sex' book. One reason why she dislikes Madonna is....in 1990/91,her brother Michael was hanging around with Madonna and the two were gonna do a song together.Madonna was quoted as saying that Michael is "in the closet (gay) and it's my job to bring him out of it" or something along those lines.Janet was furious when she heard that, and has been bashing Maddy ever since.
