I'm really diggin' Kanye West...the Alicia Keys track and this have a classic feel, and then he can still do the rap thing on other stuff. not to mention, I've never stopped likeing Chaka's Through the Fire, he beat me to that sample! ______________________________________________

This song made my day memorable. I was at a computer on my university campus and then I saw something that read "Listen to Janet's 'I Want You'." I was like "  " When the song came on, completely took me away. I love the classic sparkle of it. I just feel so good right now. I'm just steadily listening to this song and sitting in my computer chair smiling. Me and my roommate are jamming to this and "Just A Little While." I like this. Not in love with it yet but I think it will grow on me. I haven't been very impressed with anything Kayne West has released but this is good. | |

Janet's voice sounds kind of weak on this, especially at the beginning; it doesn't sound as soft and soothing like it did on "The Best Things On Life Are Free" or "Runaway", for example. It's a cute joint, I guess, but nothing special. Maybe a reject from Alicia Keys "You Don't Know My Name" sessions? It sounds like it, so it wouldn't make it as a single (no novelty factor). It's very much in the girl group style. Pretty but not arresting. I've heard this type of thing thousands of times before. Like comfort food.
By the way, this is in fact the heavily-rumoured "real" first single "Have Your Way With Me". I don't know if they've retitled it "I Want You", but I don't think so. The site probably got the title wrong. This also would have been a wrong choice for a first single (at least it's better than "Just A Little While", though), considering that Alicia's hit is still in the Top 5 (maybe that's why they switched it so abruptly?).
