What a fuckin under-rated twelve inch and single. I havent seen the video since I was like 4 or 5. It is never talked of, and the 12" version? WOOOOO shit, when it comes 2 funky, i mean it cant get no betta. Me and my friend was talkin about this jam last night, and i listened 2 it again, and gave me chills!

I ain't that too crazy about it(or the WHOLE I Feel 4 U album) waaaaay too synthsizered to me, it sounds like she was going with the motions when she did that album.

My fave cut in there is the funky/jazzy "Caught In The Act",,,she even eknowledged that she loves it in her book too!

Way 2 synth? hell yeah, but her vocals (the wall o chakas) made it spectacular 2 me.

THIS IS MY NIGHT is the shyt!!!I was just playing that today and wondering why Chaka always sing AINT NOBODY over THIS IS MY NIGHT. I love THIS IS MY NIGHT!!!! Does anyone have the mpeg of this video? I was only 4 in 1984 and never got a chance to see the video. BTW, CHAKA KHAN from 1982 is Chaka's best solo recording...NAUGHTY is good( Papilion, Move Me No Mountain, So Naughty....etc) but the CHAKA KHAN album is a classic!!!!

Her best solo album is 1981's 'Whatcha Gonna Do For Me",but 'Naughty'(1980) is excellent as well.

It got a great story. It was originaly written 4 MJ's "Thriller" album but Tony Maiden(Rufus's guitarist who was the ONLY person who were cool with her at the time) asked her to record this as a demo, playing around just 4 fun. When she came back with the results, Tony said "Screw Quincy and his boy, this is yours baby", they deleted EVERYTHING from that demo except her LEAD VOCALS and they over-dubbed the whole instrumentation and her back-up vox in ONLY ONE DAY.

This is a ONE-TAKE-MAGIC,,,Chaka's pre4mance in that song was nothing but her "Demo singing" which explains why it sound so raw and FRESH still after 22 years(and after many covering it and still failing to capture that raw essence).

She says "Looking back right now, I beat my forhead 4 thinking that I don't want this number. I was stupid, man! so stupid"!

Harlepolis, dont get me wrong, I like AINT NOBODY but what I'm saying is that Chaka has such a big body of work. Why sing AINT NOBODY, IM EVERY WOMAN and TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD every you go? Im not a person that always wants to hear the "hits". Surprise me with a "forgotten about" song like TWISTED or CAUGHT IN THE ACT or MOVE ME NO MOUNTAIN or IM A WOMAN(IM A BACKBONE) or PAPILLION or DESTINY or ONE MILLION KISSES or something.
