we have seen it through the years with prince and in the past with musicial genius like brian wilson and arthur lee. both brian and arthur seem to go off the rails after releasing their masterpieces and prince has crossed that line a few times in his career but he as managed to keep himself just about together, what do y'all think?

No. Prince is bonkers. That's one of the reasons that I like him so.

I think Prince already released his masterpiece and though he's done some foolish/odd things, he hasn't been committed or anything. Speaking for his level of sanity, I think he's fine.
