Songs you're embarassed to admit that you love Y'all know the type of songs I'm talking about....those much-maligned tracks that you play ONLY when there's nobody else around Since we don't really know each other on this site,I feel comfortable telling you what my musical "guilty pleasures" are,but most of the friends I hang around with would be shocked at this list.Try not to laugh too hard, okay? Here's my list...
*** "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" by BJ Thomas (1969) ----yes,I love this song.At the beginning of 1970,this was the Number One song on the charts,so I know I'm not the only one who liked it...lol...I love the line that goes "Because I'm free...nothing's worrying me" and the part that goes "It won't be long til' happiness steps up to greet me".How can you despise a song with positive lyrics like that? *** "You Light Up My Life" by Debby Boone (1977) ---for the life of me,I cannot figure out why so many people cringe at the mere mention of this song. There's nothing cheesy about it.It's a beautifully arranged ballad that struck a chord with many listeners in 1977 (it was Number One on the pop charts for several weeks).I remember my mother buying the 45 single, but these days, even SHE would rather forget this track...lol...btw,how many of you remember the flop movie of the same name in which this song appeared? The movie tanked, but the song became a classic. *** "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band (1976) ---in the summer of 1976,you couldn't escape this song. But these days, the song is ridiculed.I think it's a wonderful folk/pop ballad with some slighty suggestive lyrics and some rather clever metaphors...lol.... *** "Feelings" by Morris Albert (1975) ---I can't think of any other song that gets dissed more than this one...lol...it reached Number One on the charts in 1975,but I bet most of the folks who bought it back then would never admit to it. well,it took guts for me to share that with you.Let's see YOUR lists!

Didn't really have a big impact on me though can't remember anything about the storylinbe... if there was one *** "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band (1976) ---in the summer of 1976,you couldn't escape this song. But these days, the song is ridiculed.I think it's a wonderful folk/pop ballad with some slighty suggestive lyrics and some rather clever metaphors...lol.... hehe, a song about bonin' in the afternoon, that's cool I remember seeing this on VH1, but it passed on me back in 1976, I was 11 years old and just starting out with music Raindrops and Feelings, yeah well... those trax are fine with me, I won't turn of the radio when I hear it lol ...and for my personal list of tracks hiding in the closet, I'm not sure if I should give such secrets away, this could be used against me in court but let's see... I'm gonna look up my collection when I get back home after work and see if I can find something even more embarassing than you [This message was edited Wed Feb 25 3:27:50 2004 by Dancelot] Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. Didn't really have a big impact on me though can't remember anything about the storylinbe... if there was one I vaguely remember the movie, but I do know that the star was Didi Conn (who played "Frenchie" in 'Grease' a year later). She played a singer and in the end, when she gets dogged by her boyfriend, she sings "You Light Up My Life" (lip-syncing Debbie's vocals). That's all I remember.
