Wouldn't the fugees be considered one of the greatest one hit wonders af all time!

One album and that's it!

Not exactly, they had an album b4 "The Score" called "Blunted on Reality" which had a minor "hit", "Nappy Heads". It was pretty underground (if u compared it to the sales of The Score), At around the same time, Fuggees were getting noticed through Funkmaster Flexx adding them to his Mixtape Vol 1 CD, and this set them up for "The Score".

I have to agree with everyone above, Digable, Tribe, Eric B & Rakim, PE, De La, Biggie are all up there for the Hip Hop classics!

Digable Planets "Blowout Comb." HOT!

There 'tis.

In any event, dnaplaya is absolutely correct on the backstory to "The Score." And it does play out like a movie, a lot like "Only For Cuban Linx." It's a classic LP, despite the fact all 3 of them have become pretentious, self-important folk who overestimate their own talent. The topic merely states "The Score" is ONE of the best, not THE BEST, hip-hop lps ever.

Nice compilation there CinisterCee!

I am the Lyte
L-L-L-Lyte as a rock

Loved this song so much that I bought the tape, but I was VERY disappointed that it wasn't the same version. So I never gave MC Lyte's album a second listen. sad

"All Hail the Queen" was tight too! And shout to "Mama Said Knock You Out!" Just think both of them are acting now. smile

Damn I hate coming late to a party.
I knew "Blowout Comb" and my album on this list is the one and only:

You got me two times in one post.

And whoever put Ultramagnetic MCs up deserves a round of applause. Anything involving Kool Keith is up near the top.

Clearly you and I are the only ones with sense enough to read a title on this forum before responding to it. Thank you. clapping

I must say, all Tribe records were phenomenal. But I'm partial the The Low End Theory as a classic

here is the top ten ( in no particular order ) :

Fear of a black planet - PE
The Chronic - Dr Dre
De La Soul - 3 feets high and rizing
Wu tang clan - Enter the 36 chambers
Beastie Boys - Paul's boutique
Doggy style - Snoop Doggy Dogg
The low and the theory - Tribe called Quest
Ready to die - Notorious BIG
Step in the Arena - gangstarr
Cypress hill - Cypress Hill

... well i've got to admit i don't own any "EPMD" and "Erik B and Rakim" albums yet so the list may not be perfect but it must be pretty close...
