Just the opposite.
Unauthorized downloading is causing the “gatekeepers” to be more conservative about what they release. Authorized downloading is allowing throngs of no-talent wannabes to release their crap to the masses, actually making it more difficult to find high quality music, as we have to sift through more horse crap to find the pretty pony. For now, the traditional sponsors and financial backers of tours are also being more conservative on what they will finance. In the short term, downloading will downgrade “music”. In the long run, there are some great opportunities with downloading. Financially, logistically, and creatively. | |

Yes, i think so. Onehitwonders are not able to release records with big sales anymore and established artists better think twice what to release.
