1998: Never Say Never! Darkchild had it locked on so many productions, even as early as 1996 (Booty Call soundtrack, anyone? mr.green ) and he is obviously talented but as this thread has demonstrated, tends to give different artists the cookie-cutter treatment nowadays.

That was a really good, consistent album. Jerkins was at the height of his production powers. He showed his songwriting skills ("The Boy Is Mine"), incredible production ("Angel In Disguise") and balladry ("Put That On Everything"). Recycled that same formula of melodic beats, catchy hooks with 2002's Full Moon LP (that album had too much filler though and went on too long), but I haven't been impressed with his recent work.

It's just awful. Like Jennifer Lopez, she sounds like a cat being sawed in half, and the song isn't catchy at all.

And she's pretty, but her forehead is really huge, isn't it?

Man u guys are trippin. This is better than "Uh Oh" - Lumidee or "Yeah" by Usher or "Saltshaker" by Lil John.

Ok, it is not good, but it is not what u guys are making it out 2 b. Actually the beat aint bad, although it is still standard Rodney, just like standadrd Neptunes, although Neptunes writing is better.

hey what happened 2 Shakspere?

Anyway, the song aint THAT bad. Its better than alot of shit out there right now though.

Ushers Yeah is fire. And how dare you mention Neptunes and Darkchild in the same utterance. Some one please check this guys musical pedigree!

Hav u lost ur everlasting mind? How the fuck is "Yeah" a good song. I keep thinking that that song is "Windows to the Walls" bullshit. How can somehting with the same tacky Cash Money little kid trying a keyboard drum machine mess be considered anything productive? Just like Cash Money & Master P, only this is just getting worse. I make beats 4 ur information... www.soundclick.com/izak1z and if Usher was singing over my shit, it would be SLAMMIN.

Ok, then u say how dare i mention them in an utterance...um because Neptunes signature sound is gettnig expired. People like Timbaland, Jimmy & Terry, 7, and Rockwilder gave sum shit that was unexpected and still are. neptunes fall right in the category with Rodney sometimes Trackmasters and every other producer who has that same sound and need some new snares or something. Sorry 2 say this but also, Kanye West beats will have it;'s day also, though I love him, all he nee 2 do is keep doing what he's doing now, and later when his expected sound goes expired. Think of something different. Dont use that same ol snare, hi hat, keyboard.

That's y Jimmy & Terry last so long. They consistently changed their style from date 2 date.

whofarted tyra-dahling? stick with your day job, cuz your singing is vomitrocious.

I think doing the show has made Tyra want to explore the aspects of media that she herself hasn't accomplished much in. She said it herself that models these days have to be multi-talented. I think she's just trying to live up to her own set standards. It still ain't gonna help the vocals on that song, though! evillol

Models must be multitalented? Why? What in their job description requires them to be multitalented? Unless talents include throwing up everything you've ever eaten and being unattainably statuesque.

Ah, you've forgotten "writing a novel" (Naomi Campbell), "being a professional groupie" (most of them), "acting" (all of them - Tyra included) and, yup "singing" (Naomi made an album).

Agencies ask that of them. More talents = more jobs = more exposure = products to sell = more $$$$$

None of the products sell, though. Not Naomi's album, not Tyra's single. No one goes to a movie solely to see Tyra Banks (and if they do, I feel quite sorry for them).

Do you have figures of investment vs. profit ratios? There are many factors involved. You have to know how much was invested in order to know how much was profitted. Also, Tyra' CD isn't officially "out" yet. You don't know as to whether or not her CD will sell.

Also, what's being marketed is STAR POWER. The person's NAME. Naomi may not sell more books, but her book could win her new sales on her next calendar that she may not have had prior to the book. Tyra's CD doesn't have to sell, but her music video may lead to another movie role offered that she might not have been considered for prior to it. STAR POWER is what's for sale these days. Agencies know this; that's why they ASK that models learn other things, just as actresses audition for Revlon commercials, etc. and attempt to secure magazine covers. Its the marketing of star power.

And, folks need to also understand the hustle. Tyra is EXECUTIVE PRODUCER of that annoying little model show. The show's not for me (I caught it for the first time tonight and saw her video). But, Tyra's doing her thing.

She explained at the show's end how hard it was for her to send a model home, because she's trying to embark on a new facet of her career and will be judged harshly. She didn't feel justified in cutting the would-be model, for that very reason.

Tyra is a black woman trying to be more than just a pretty face. She's enterprising, and she takes risks. I think we all could learn from her spirit. I know I could. More power to her.

That said, I don't care much for the single, but I applaud her work ethic.

that's not exactly true. alot of those girls' agencies negotiate mad money deals for them where all of this crap is marketed to an unsuspecting public in europe, asia, and the middle east, and as someone who is in that business, i can tell you that those heffers clean up...and the agents get 20% of the cut.

I heard it for myself. Good grief!

I could hear Britney Spears singing that song. I mean, you don't need strong vocals for that track at all.
