Old School Pop Track Of The Day: Human League- (Keep Feeling) Fascination (1983) 1983 was such a great year for top 40 pop music. This jam came out in summer of 83. That summer you could hear great pop songs on the radio such as...
***Eddy Grant-Electric Avenue ***Thomas Dolby- She Blinded Me Science ***Sergio Mendes-Never Gonna Let You Go ***Culture Club-Time (Clock Of The Heart) ***Michael Jackson- Wanna Be Starting Something But this one was a great track too. This song reminds me of Beyonce's "Crazy In Love", in the sense that the horn riff on this track is sampled to great effect. I also dig that nice bass lick on this track as well. One of those great tunes that really makes you feel good. "Keep feeling fascination Passion burning Love so strong Keep feeling fascination Looking learning Moving on" Lead singer Phillip Oakey and the crew served up a nifty pop tune here. It went to number #8 on the US pop charts in summer of 1983. [This message was edited Mon Feb 16 5:40:01 2004 by BRO915]

I have to admit,I don't really like that Human League song
It was cool in 1983,but when I hear it these days,it just makes me cringe. Many of those New Wave songs don't really age that well,do they? LOL

I certainly concur. In high school I made a 4 hour (two 120 minute tapes) mix of songs only from 1983.

I do love "You're Only Human", but for me, this is the quintessential Human League song. I love it. Yeah, it sounds like it was made in 1983, and the video sure looks like it too- but it's still great and a lot of fun to hear.

I saw them in concert with sassy britches like 6 years ago -they were on tour with culture club...it was a great night-they sounded aweseome!
when keep feeling fascination came on, sassy and i wnet into the aisle and danced - he kept spinning me around-we created quite a stir.... human league rocks...remember their song "Eletric dreams???" very 80s! Let the rain come down...17 days....

Yes, this was the jam back in the day!!!! The video was pretty cool too, in that cheezy 80's kinda way. Y'all gotta hunt doen that Fascination EP. It's very good. It's got cool tracks like "Hard Times, "Mirror Man", "You Remind Me of Gold", and of course the title track. I saw them last year at B.B. King's Club. They were awesome. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I can remember RnB station playing this back in the day.
