Old School R&B Track Of The Day(2/18/04)-Kleer-Winners

MANNNNN!!!!! This song is super tough. Man, 1979 gave us so many great songs..I may have to start a 1979 thread biggrin . I mean so many great great cuts came out of that year. This is surely one of them..although underrated and oft times forgotten.

I put this on a old school R&B CD compilation, I made a couple of nights ago at the crib.

At first I thought that Narada Michael Walden produced this song. The overall production and arrangements sounds like some of his hits at the time.

But what I love about this track is the bridge...Man when that bridge falls in at the middle of the song....the song elevates to a whole other kind of level. Love how that drummer works those cymbals on this track. The drummer surely kept that groove intact during the bridge.

"Winners...never quit
(background vocals)....."Winners never quit"

Enjoy,
Brother 9/15

Harlepolis

Shiiiiit lol a party ain't worth a damn thang till you bumb one of their records!

I picked their "The Very Best of" CD on the way home afew months ago(hell, none of their albums were re-issued as CDs 4 that matter anyway).

Damn, listening 2 this right here storm me with alot of memories.

I remember my brotha(who was DJing back in the day) wouldn't pull a party without including their song "Taste The Music"(my FAVE song from them) thats when mofos get wild. Hell, every party in our block had to have a Kleeer joint otherwise it wouldn't be a party.

Harlem's blocks sho loved those guys!

Alot of people don't think this band EVEN excist,,,,its a damn shame really cuz they were baaaaad!
