Ella Fitzgerlad's Something 2 Live 4 DVD--Does Anybody Have This One? WOW!
I tell ya, I haven't seen a bio from Ella and I don't know her story beside the fact the she's from Yonkers(I don't have a thick backround about her music either). But watching that DVD really made me emotional, she's one of the ultimate examples of the roses that grew from the concrete. Probably the best moments from that DVD is the ones that shows her scatting pre4mances(Lawd,,,that woman is NOTORIOUS!) and her 60's TV interviews & pre4mances. And they showed her latest interview which was from 1980! The whole DVD is narrated by Tony Bennet and even HERSELF(which borrows her own speaking quotes from various radio interviews over her years). She and her band were taking pictures of "sacragating" places in the south whenever they go there. The whole shit was a treat, like Patti Austin said "Every home should have one". Anybody else got this DVD besides me? Holla holla holla! Chico's look out edit [This message was edited Thu Feb 19 10:40:22 2004 by Harlepolis]

It was pretty hard enough 4 me to hear Patti Austin's "For Ella"(and I love the woman btw) let alone Vanessa. I just think that her music should be left alone *period*
