Hip Hop - an ongoing introspective....... OK, KRS preaches that hip hop is something you live, so I am going to do my little part.
I am not a big forum poster, but I think I'm going to start something new here. Here and there, I am going to start some threads on hip hop groups and artists, open some of the eyes of those that forgot to take their NO-DOZ..... please feel free to post your comments and please seek these artists out and LISTEN to them I am damn tired of people thinking that the shit on the radio and MTV is hip hop it's not it is a true art form and needs exposure so, like I said, this is going to be my way of helping something that I've been in love with since hearing a little song titled "Sucka MC's" by Run DMC BTW, these are not going to be in any particular order, just various artists, from various time periods..... I'm going to try to get one up every other day, but don't hold me to that shit.....LOL ONE LOVE

well there was a lil one sided record by the crash crew called "Hi power rap" which was way before sucka mc's not taking anything away from run and D, but this record showed Hip hop Culture in its stripped down bare essence it was Dj "Disco Dave" cuttin up Freedom's get up and dance.
this record came out before flash and the five released "freedom" on sugarhill but there were crews puttin out joints on vinyl. before rappers delight, there was the Treacherous 3,disco 4, funky 4 plus 1,Spoonie Gee,Flash and the Furious 5 there was a lil label called "Enjoy" which was owned by Bobby Robinson who was a music pioneer who owned labels like "Fury and Rama" in the 50's. Sylvia Robinson ( No relation to Bobby) owned a few labels in her own right "Stang,All platinum,Vibration" and she started sugarhill in the same building she started those other labels. Ok so im rambling, but this is all relative to hip hop culture these artists put out records that had the foundation of Hip hop with records that had "Breakdowns" had it not been for these pioneers in Music we wouldnt have had Dj Kool herc and Jazzy jay and Flash who developed the art of cutting 2 records back and forth with ease. as a true lover of Hip hop and seen its birth from a loving baby to a mischevious toddler to an angry and violent adult. somewhere along the line Hip Hop culture was abused and treated with complere disrespect to become a part of this violent and angry part of its growth. what young kids see on television is impressionable, sure when i was growing up we did crazy things, buyt we never shot people, or was out for blood, if my crew hgad a beef with another crew we took it to the bassment or the parks and battled Musically. so in conclusion Hip hop culture needs to be put on punishment for a while so it can think about what impact it has had since the early 90's when hip hop switched up to this angry culture.
