American Idol--Ruben or Clay--who'll last longer?

I'm thinking Ruben will. Clay has the popularity and sales right now, but no crossover appeal amd a lot of his fans are little girls and lonely desperate women. While his album and first single sold very well, I think the whole thing will wear off sooner than later, especially when he come clean and admits that he could be the sixth man on Queer Eye for The Straight Guy.

Ruben on the other hand had his album hit #1 on the pop and R&B charts and has a current top 10 single (Sorry 2004, good song) on both charts and was nominated for a Grammy.

I just think Ruben got a raw deal when he won American Idol, because you would swear that Clay won with all the praise and magazine covers he was on and that Ruben won the damn contest through affirmative action or something?

They're both talented, so they may both be around for a long time, but I say clay's a One and done deal while Ruben becomes the next Gerald Levert--not a superstar, but will be around for a while
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

Hmm...I really don't care, because they're both worthless AC pap peddlers. Here today, gone tomorrow, back again? It doesn't matter - it's all the same music, anyway. "It's the same old song...."

Clay? He belongs back in the ground.

well...clay's album dropped off the charts after a huge opening week...

ruben's did good (not as good as clays) but is still in the top ten...

if ruben finds good songs he will do fine..clay will end up getting caught in a bathroom soliciting sex from a cop...and then end up doing a broadway show on tour in the south...

I don't think either one will stick around very long. I thought Ruben would be around for a while but I'm doubting it more and more.

Yeah, I dont think Clay will last as long as Ruben. He doesnt have 'it'. His look is all wrong (and needs 2 just admit he is gay and get over it), I didnt like his single all that much...too standard and i dont kow something...

I can say the same for Ruben's single also which is 2 'standard' for me, Flying Without Wings was boring. He may end up like gerald Levert yeah u right.

I hope he chooses "No Ruben" or "What Is Sexy" for his next singles...standard commercial but they are at least part of 5 of the what...15 tracks on "Soulful" i liked. I hope Ruben get his props and his next album will be more "Soulful", cuz I dont know. He may end up .. not 'changing' andything just like most of the r&b cats out there now.

I like Ruben, though his album was a little disappointing.

His album was way better than Clay's however, which is one of the most boring albums I've ever heard. The first single sucks, and yet it's five times better than any other song on that CD. I guess the housewife crowd will continue to buy into his garbage for a while.
