Adriana Evans-Adriana Evans(An Album That Got Slept On in 97') I did a thread about a song on this album last year, but this whole album was pretty doggone good. I think this album by this talented vocalist came out in a year where Erykah Badu was taking the r&B world by storm. But this recording truly deserved a better reception.
"Seeing Is Believing" was the lead off single here. The album all-in-all was consistently good...other great songs on here is "Hey Brother"and again one of the best R&B songs songs of the entire 90's IMO..."Trippin". I also recall seeing her doing a Video Soul mini-concert in promotion for this album on BET a few weeks after it dropped back in 97'. Pick this one up and give it a listen...if you missed getting it. Do u know that she's the daughter of the Jazz vocalist Mary Stallings who started her career working with Count Basie's band and Dizzy Gillespie? Makes no wonder why u hear this Jazz/soul madness in this sista

I just looked it up on Amazon to see if I could hear a sample (no samples  ) and it said the album was released in 2000 but they must have messed up since they have reviews from 1998 on there. | |

This album is one of my all time faves. And don't even get me started on how incredible a song "Trippin" is. This album was totally slept on and i recommend recommend recommend it as a must have. Her voice is simply sweet.
