Now Where The HELL Is Angela Winbush? Somebody, Somewhere?

Same thread, different year!

Where is that book and where is that CD? Dammit, I'm losing my patience big time yo sad

Damn this woman, she's really killing every bit of me slow with her absence. If this RnB/Soul industrey desparatly need some REAL talent then Angie won't miss a single shot. Homegirl still got the looks and mos def still got those out-of-the universe pipes.

I've been giving her SOLO effort a serious listen last night(Forget about her stuff with Rene & Ron 4 this moment). Here're some o' the songs that JUST cought my attention:

1.Sensual Lover(From Sharp)-This sucka is a double sexy grinder, R.Kelly wouldn't put 2ghether a jam like this even if his life depented on it. Matta o' fact she's echoing Marvin Gaye in this devil grinder.

2.Precious(From The Real Thang)-I love this joint, her friend since the Wanderland(Stevie Wonder's band) days Mr.Greg Phillinganes is dueting with her on the acoustic piano. Now this is def a Sarah Vaughan influenced song,,,I think she got influenced by Sarah's brazillian jazz stuff(the 70's).

3.Keep Turning Me On(From Angela Winbush)-One of the standout slow jams from that album. Its obevious that she takes alot of notes from Jazz while hearing this.

4.Dreamlover(From the same album)-A damn sexy med-tempo with seductive guitar playing from Ernie Isley. One thang I noticed is she screams "Oooh I like your loooviinng"(That Chaka Khan song from her 75's album "Rufus ft. Chaka Khan) so yeah it was obeviously an ode 2 Chaka even tho its not that hard to tell since homegirl took alot of notes from Chaka's phrasing and the fact that she sang back-up and produced her in the 81's Rufus reunion album "Comufolage"(Sp?).

I'm fimiliar with the other songs,,,but I just got a GOOT LISTEN to these ones.

Youngsters really need to get to know this lady, it stricked me as hell when I saw the look at the audience faces in 106 & Park when she pre4med with Avant her own hit "My 1st Love" replacing Keke Wyatt,,,I could tell that they were thinking to themselves "Who the hell is this ol' heffa singing Keke's part?" lol :=rolleyes02=:

I heard that she got herself a nice lil' house in Las Vegas Nevada. I REALLY hope all as well with her and most of all I look 4ward to see her again.

I tell ya, it wasn't a joke when some of 'em sick DJs said that she was found DEAD in her Las Vegas home last year. I damn near tried to call Hot.97 and ask 'em myself till the Doug Banks show announced that it was some sick joke and she's healthy and in the process of recording her album.

Anyway show yo love and sorry 4 the looong ass post!

I heard that Angela has turned in her towel on the music industry. I think it was in the Sister 2 Sister magazine issue with Ron Isley on the cover (from last year). confuse

Thats ironic!

Cuz the same last year, I saw a new article including new picture and quote of her(when they asked her about the bitter divorce between her and Ron she said "I don't get bitter, I get better") and news confirming that she's in the process of doing an album and a book that talks about the issues women face when they get married to high-profile figures(hint-Ron).

I don't know what to believe anymore, all I want is to see this woman in that screen again mad

Me either. She can sing her ass off, though. I almost ran my car off the side of the road when I actually listened to her song "Angel" and at the end she held that high-ass note!!! lol I was like "whoa!" eek

See that's what I'm talkin' bout. Angela Winbush is one of those RnB ladies I miss so much. Angela Winbush, Deniece Williams, Shirley Murdock, Micki Howard, Melissa Morgan, etc. These ladies were all what I call "the second level of RnB Divas". Of course there will always be Aretha, Gladys, and Patti, but there were those that were just under their wing, and Angela was right there. Where are the new Angela Winbush's of today?
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.
