Grammies The Good and the Bad

Well Im not going to Rant about things I didnt like because I actually dug 90% of the performances like I did the year before. Thank god for good performances because who wins is totally secondary. I am happy for OUTKAST and album of the year but that is the weakest nominees in that category ever. Im not into the White Stripes but the performance was good. My only complaint about the performance area will be SEAN PAUL, can someone punch the clock on this guy already, hes annoying, he does the same shit in EVERY SONG and now he's polluting classics, please GOD NO more Sean Paul. On that NOTE I didnt really have a favorite PERFORMANCE, I really dug PRINCE's VIBE but I was let down because it really wasnt about him, he really could have done that himself, but hey at least he was on TV. I am happy for RICHARD MARX who has gotten screwed many times by the Grammies and the academy and NARAS, Im sure he felt good about being on that stage, especially since he too LOST his father recently, in fact on his last record in 2000 there is an amazing tribute to him. Next up Beyonce, classy performer, and she continues to ONE up with her LOOKS and her Music Talent, I am getting tired of her being everywhere BECAUSE there were alot of other GOOD FEMALES in RB this year, especially MYA's MOODRING which was totally overlooked. The BEATLES tribute was COOL and the YOKO moment was touching but iT's SAD that still due to MONEY and LEGAL ISSUES that her and McCartney and Ringo and JULIAN LENNON (who gets NOTHING) cannot put it to rest and be as ONE as JOHNS songs say. Next is JUSTIN, well Im sorry I just dont dig him so I cant really give an opinion on him. And thats really about it, there were some moments like QUENTIN T screwing UP the year of PURPLE RAIN, 1983?? But I guess my favorite NON PERFORMANCE moment WAS PAULINA RUBIO, I love her and have since the late 80's when she started, and DAMN she's hot and her new CD sounds like a STING record as far as Music Diversity, and also Im a sucker for a LATINA with Great LEGS.

PEACE YALL

OH wait ONE BIG COMPLAINT, CELINE DION!!!! Not for anything RICHARD MARX co-wrote this song, and it was a tribute to HIS DAD TOO not CELINE's. He should have been singing the SONG not HER. I thought she retired!

Anxiety

George Clinton scurred me.

Celine's technical difficulties made me cackle, and for the first time in my life I felt sympathy for Richard Marx. I only wish it hadn't have been Luther's song that had gotten mangled.

All in all I thought this year's Grammy's were the best I've seen in a long time...I enjoyed most of the performances...Christina was too over the top for me and I pissed off all the people I watched it with because they thought she was amazing...bullshit. Justin trying (key word-TRYING) to pull a Stevie Wonder did not do it for me...and WHOA he played like 3 notes...he must be a musician now!

Though underminded by the more high profile acts I gotta say I enjoyed the Warren Zevon tribute...(though I was really hoping Emmylou Harris would've sang an actual song)...and I also thought Sarah McLachlan w/ Allison Krauss was very lovely. Sarah looked great with her long locks and just went out there and did what she does best..sing a beautiful ballad. Allison is an amazing talent and she gave "Fallen" a nice touch.

My heart is still skipping beats over Prince/Beyonce and The White Stripes...I've watched those two performances the most...pure raw talent exploding off the stage.

The Funk Revue was also really good though George Clinton did not look into it at all. Outkast were great too!

LOL...I was laughing at that too!!!

What an odd trio though...Paulina, Brian McKnight and Hilary Duff??? They all looked so awkward together up there. Especially annoying ass Hilary. At least she didnt talk as much!

Ooh, I remember it was for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, since perky-titted Hilary was very happy to present an award to "her idol" (which probably explains her sense of style). Bryan McKnight didn't talk at all. What was up with that?
