RICHARD MARX ROCKS!

Thank goodness he's been honored for his songwriting talents...I love his music (everything from 1987-Present) and he's written fabu songs for other artisits (N Sync-THis I promise you)...Richard Rocks! And he deserves the spotlight tonight...and that was a great speech about luther tha the gave...

by the way-his wife is cynthia rhodes form dirty dancing and Staying alive...she was also in the later version of the 80s pop group animotion...just a little trivia...

I was happy that he and Luther got the award. I had no idea they've been collaborating for 13 years! Knowing this, I can almost forgive him for that funky-ass 80s mullet.

Luther sang on his hit from the 90s "Keep Coming Back'. they must be good friends.
Richard got game, man. he used to sing for Lionel Richie and he even had Barry White on his Rush Street album.

I still think "Don't Mean Nothing" is a good song.

Regarding his first hit "Don't Mean Nothin', Richard says "This song didn't at all fit the trends of 1987, but it pushed through and started it all. My high school grammar teacher is still pissed off at me over this title. Bruce [Gaitsch] and I wrote the music, and wrote the lyrics about 'the struggle'. What I've learned over 10 years is that 'the struggle' never ends, it just changes addresses.."

I thought she was sooo cool in Staying Alive. She has a good voice. They make a cute couple.
