Well, it was Prince. That's enough for me. Always incredible and always delivers the goods. Beyonce impressed me as well.

I think it was an amazing performance...too many people had in mind what should happen and are crying cause it didn't.

It was good just because he was there at all. Seeing Prince, JB, Rhonda, Maceo, Candy and Renato all playing their stuff in the opening of the Grammys was great. Prince played some nice guitar and even went for his goofy look at the end. It was a nice start to my Monday morning Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

Actually, the thing that surprised me the most is that Prince and Beyonce' seem to have very good stage chemistry togehter . And vocally, their voices seem to compliment one another. The thing about Prince is that his duets normally don't sound very good at all because his voice just doesn't seem to fit in with anyone elses. But both Prince and Beyonce seemed quite natural with each other. "You've got to believe in something... why not believe in me?"

can't say i dug it. i thought it would be cool but she came off looking like a bad tina turner impersonator. the best part was when they made the 'morris' face at the end.

the idea of Prince lending credibility to the Grammies by his mere presence there makes me feel dirty, not to mention a Beyonce collab, but I'm sure I'll see this thing soon.

I enjoyed the performance, although it seemed a bit surreal to see Prince "above ground" in prime time for the first time in what seems like ages. He used to be expected to be in prime time. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I'll take the 'or what' option.

It brought me back 2 the grammys. 4 the time they gave him on split terms it was solid. He made the most of his time, and showed people who have not seen him in a while he still got it.

Yeah this collab was cool. Beyonce was lookin kinda hot and handled the mic pretty well. Prince hit a nice vibe and she blended well with him. Also, it was great seeing Maceo and Greg up there too! [This message was edited Mon Feb 9 3:24:09 PST 2004 by PFunkjazz] test

Get real. Prince was only nominated for that lousy instrumental album. Beyonce (and Outkast) were ruling the roost with their multiple nominations. It's great Prince was put up front again, but it's more a salute to his influence rather than his current stature. The academy did him a favor by putting him in front of a prime time audience. Looks like he did his job and turned in a solid performance. test

Co-sign with ya on this one Pfunk...They did him a favor by giving him an opening slot...He's gonna turn in a solid performance anyhow...given his abilities as a live performer..the question WAS how well would ne meshed with Beyonce...I think we got our answer... Great performance!!! And for those of you who want more of LIL MAN...just wait a month and 7 days when he's officially inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Not me. From day one, Beyonce seemed to have so much stage presence and she needed someone like him to collaborate with...not to mention the gal can sing her ass off!!! I hope they collaborate in the future.

Co-sign. I was screaming to the top of my lungs when Prince came out and then I heard Beyonce and my jaw just dropped. I was so hoping the Prince collabo rumor wasn't true.Stormbringer
