Let's all be honest, Jack White easily outplayed Prince on guitar. He was more innovative, less commercial, less pandering to trends.

Apple and oranges. Prince was going the showman route Sunday night, Jack White is in a different place as a performer.

did any of you org-cats catch the Stripes last year on
the Conan O'Brien Show?

that shit was insanes!!!

they played all week (remember way-back, when P was supposed to do the same?)

that was by far the craziest shit i have ever seen on TV.

they even went sorta Prince---and had their 400 lb bodyguard get in the way of Meg when Conan tried to thank her/shake her hand after their 1st performance, and on the couch later. he never let Conan get near Meg.

pretty funny, pretty Prince. Meg never said a word to Conan all week.

on the last night of their performances, Jack ran over to Conan's desk- threw his guitar on it, and did the illest solo i have seen in forever-ever---all the while, the guitar laid on his desk.

true showmanship. true talent. true balls-out-helluva!!!

so, is P gonna be a surprise guest while Conan is in Toronto??? hmmm

it was two completely different styles of guitar playing...I don't see how it's comparable...

Fuck yeah. That performance of let's build a home was classic... specially when his guitar went out, and he threw it down and basically said "fuck it, i'll finish the song with just meg"...

I was impressed. The guitar was raw and I liked the energy they brought--and the lighting effects worked well. If they had a singer they'd have a great little band. As it is, they stole the show. Too bad Sting, Prince, and Robert Randolph (?) and the Family Band didn't do their own things.

I'd like them if:

-Jack White could sing
-Jack White could enunciate properly so I could understand wtf the lyrics were.

I'm not much of a White Stripes fan, but I gotta give them props. It's two people on stage making all that sound. Pretty cool.

That's true. The drummer was fantastic.
