JC Chasez GETS F**D over by Justin/NFL From Eonline.com
Due to the controversy caused by the Justin Timberlake-Janet Jackson boobgate, the NFL has decided to cancel a halftime performance by Timberlake's fellow 'N Syncer, J.C. Chasez, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed to E!. Chasez had reportedly planned to perform "Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love) during halftime of the NFL Pro Bowl this weekend. The song was featured on the soundtrack for 2002's Drumline--which was rated for the record, a staid PG-13. However, still smarting from the R-rated Super Bowl festivities, the NFL has decided to steer clear of any potential for further embarrassment. "We thought it was over the top," McCarthy told TelevisionWeek.com. "It was because of the song and how we believed it was going to be choreographed. We wanted to go in a different direction." McCarthy said that Chasez had not been holding rehearsals at the Pro Bowl. As a result, the NFL made a preemptive strike, barring any possible "wardrobe malfunctions" from halftime entertainment. Instead, spectators will have the opportunity to get laid--oops, that's lei'd. The halftime entertainment will now be Hawaiian-themed in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Pro Bowl being played in the Aloha State. Chasez released a statement expressing his extreme sorrow at having his performance nixed. "No one could be more disappointed than I that the NFL has canceled my halftime performance at the Pro Bowl this coming Sunday," Chasez said. "I've told the NFL I understand the pressure they are under since the Super Bowl." Right--the pressure caused by a certain former bandmate and a member of the Jackson family. But no hard feelings... Chasez hasn't been crossed out of the equation entirely--McCarthy said the singer is in negotiations to perform the national anthem at the game. In the meantime, Chasez has a slew of upcoming television performances scheduled to promote his debut solo album, Schizophrenic, due out Feb. 24. Let the rain come down...17 days....

The NFL would have probably cancelled any performance by anyone.
But hey, as long as the NFL keeps cancelling performances by the rest of N`Sync...

It is a shame that they're going over board and someone else has to take the "punishment." On the other hand, one of the two main performers for the Pro Bowl Half-Time Show is local performer Willie K...Now Willie K. is the musician who came on stage at the aftershow in Maui and tore it up with our Prince...Man, he was all over Prince's guitar and it was quite a site to behold!!I know he'll be doing Hawaiian themed show but U might be able to get a hint of the talent just below the surface to wreck the house! Aloha~

What, no JC!!! That's it! Now I'm flying out to Hollywood 4 the HOB show and boycotting the Pro Bowl while I'm on the plane...O wait, I already had a ticket to go to the HOB show... I just like saying that ...

It's unfair, but the hype for the Chasez LP is similar to that of Janet's new one, albeit on a slightly smaller scale. It's billed as his "Dirty Mind" essentially. Add that factor to the N'Sync connection and the NFL did some good ol'fashioned profiling. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
Props will be withheld until the showing and proving has commenced. -- Aaron McGruder

Damn, I thought it couldn't get anymore ridiculous.
AOL wants their 7.5 million back, ER won't air a segment of an 80 year old woman's breast being exposed as she's getting med treatment and now just because JC used to stand beside Justin and sing he gets dicked out of his gig. Lord help us all. [This message was edited Thu Feb 5 11:54:58 PST 2004 by AdoreDaBang1] When it comes to funk, i am junkie

Do you think that they ever would have thought that a regular preformance from Janet and a few other shlubs would have gotten this damn much attention? They have some damn nerve, over charging for their crap service! And the JC thing makes no damn sense either. Let's punish Justin by not allowing someone who might be his competition to preform on a show becuase they used to be in a band together. Poor JC can't cut a break. Something tells me even if this album is good, it just ain't gonna make it!

I"m sooo bouying JC Chasez's Cd when it comes out:
1.Because everyone on the org is saying he's got the "prince" vibe going and since I"m hopelessly in love with SASSY BITCH, and he digs this sound, JC is mine 2. But the MAIN reason is the statement JC released today. YOU GO YOU MO-FO! LOVE YOU! From the AP: The NFL offered Chasez the consolation prize of performing the national anthem before the game, which he initially agreed to do. But on Thursday he changed his mind. He released a statement attacking the league's leadership, saying it has "clearly become so disoriented it has reduced itself to bashing me and my music to divert attention from the fact that the NFL screwed up at the Super Bowl." Chasez said he had enjoyed a positive relationship with the league in the past, but felt "mistreated" after being dropped. "While I agree the mishap at the Super Bowl was a huge mistake, the NFL's shallow effort to portray my music as sexually indecent brings to mind another era when innocent artists were smeared with a broad brush by insecure but powerful people," Chasez stated. "That's not the America I love. Nor is this the NFL I love. I'll sing the national anthem anytime, anywhere, but not for this NFL." It's not like the lost gig is leaving Chasez with a lot of free time on his hands--the singer has a slew of upcoming television performances scheduled to promote his debut solo album, Schizophrenic, due out Feb. 24. I am waiting for more prominent people to come out against the idiots-that-be. As soon as they realize they don't have to be FOR Janet to be AGAINST the treatment of her. I mean the punishment just doesn't fit the crime. Like killing an ant with an M16. [This message was edited Fri Feb 6 12:17:36 PST 2004 by AdoreDaBang1] When it comes to funk, i am junkie

I'm really feeling JC right now. I like his music. I SO glad he cut that friggin' greasy mullet and bought some new clothes. And his attitude over this whole NFL affair is right on.
I think, in fact, this fallout will make JC and Justin closer. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Ironic that the one with the good voice gets shafted in this case, huh? Too bad, JC. Let's hope your album does well.

I just fell bad for all of his tough breaks (he doesn't seem to be getting the push Justin got from Jive, no awards show performance but rather is often a presenter, Pro-Bowl, no video?, etc.). I don't think I feel sorry enough for him to buy the CD but if you are into him enough to buy the CD, go for it if you're into it.
