Rock And Roll Radio, originally by The Ramones, covered by KISS on the tribute album. I never thought anyone could top The Ramones on one of their songs but KISS did it. IT's bigger, more fun, and ooooohhh those horns.

And for the record Novabreaker, have you actually properly heard any Orgy albums? Cos it seems a bit like when people describe Leonard Cohen as depressing - you know, people who haven't actually listened to his music. Orgy are a great band, so there! Clubkid said even better than the real thing (u2)

Orgy are a great band, so there! may very well be, but still they raped New Order's 'Blue Monday', a modern classic that they shouldn't have touched! I don't know how old/young you all are (I'm in my 30's) but I can still very well remember when this song was a hit and how I liked it then alreday! I don't know Orgy, but it seems that they have scored with one killer song which wasn't theirs....where are they know?

I don't know Orgy, but it seems that they have scored with one killer song which wasn't theirs....where are they know? Well, I'm also in my thirties, and of course remember the original Blue Monday, a classic. I love the original, but New Order lose points for that vile remix of it they did in the 90's (a bit like 1999:TNM). I agree with you to a certain extent, in that classics really shouldn't be touched as they are usually mangled and murdered by inferior musicians with no talent of their own and a complete reliance on stealing the work of others. However, I don't think this is the case with Orgy. In fact, I didn't even know they released it as a single, I assumed it was just an album track. I only actually discovered Orgy by accident - I was working in Denver and happened to pick up Vapour Transmission to look at the cover art. I liked the cover art so much I decided to do something I've only done a handful of times in my life - buy an album completely unknown to me. If their cover of Blue Monday is the only Orgy song you've heard then I can assure you you know nothing of their musical capabilities. I loved Vapour Transmission so much I bought Candyass on the strength of it, which is when I heard their cover of Blue Monday. If I had heard it as a single I probably would not have bought Candyass on the strentgh of it, but having said that, I think you do them an injustice by saying they raped the song. This is one of the best cover versions I have ever heard. They stick to the orginal's style, the don't change the lyrics (unlike many morons trying to 'personalise' their covers - and that includes Prince - "just a slave like one of us" yeeuuuuggghhhh!), about all they've done to it is grunge it up a little bit. OK, so you don't like it, but I could probably name hundreds of stomach-turning cover versions that should never have been allowed, and that are far worse than Orgy's Blue Monday. As for where they are now? I have no idea. A quick web search didn't tell me much (apart from "the search string you have entered is likely to return adult content"). I gather that they have done nothing since Vapour Transmission. It sounds, then, as if they were one-hit-wonders, doing a cover, which is dissapointing. I could choose plenty of possible singles from their albums that would have served them better. P.S. Can you come to Ireland and teach the brewers here how to make REAL beer; I'm sick of the expensive fizzy yellow piss they make here. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

"La Vie En Rose"--Grace Jones. Edith Piaf did it in the 40s. Leave to Grace though to give it new flava. Maybe it's just me, but it seems that guite a few old songs were covered in the 80s. I've already mentioned "Venus" and "Tainted Love."
