Oh My GOD!! I just heard something disturbing on the news. AOL WANTS ITS MONEY BACK!! Apparently what Janet did so overshadowed the impact that the commercials had that it totally devalued them and made the million dollars for a 30 sec spot essentially worthless. If THEY do it the other advertisers might follow suit and then it will REALLY be a big mess.

On the other side of the coin this was on Access Hollywood web site

Comedian Jon Lovitz told Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson that Justin's "revealing" strip was indeed unintentional.

"You think it was a wardrobe malfuntion?" Shaun asked Jon.

"That's exactly what it was. That's just a fact. Adam Sandler's manager Sandy Warnick was at the Super Bowl with the wardrobe person when it happened," explained Jon. "She freaked out and said, 'Oh no!' because it wasn't supposed to happen. She had that red thing underneath but it got ripped away -- that's all."

didn't know where to post this since people are complaining about to many Janet threads. Thoughts people?

Somehow I think Jon Lovitz said that with a wink and a nudge implied.

As for the AOL thing, yeah, they want their $7.5M back. If more and more sponsors start to complain and if lawsuits are filed, CBS could sue Janet and Justin for damages and win if there is no proof that they knew about the stunt. Let's hope this doesn't blow up in her face.

So maybe this is why Madonna didn't show her tits to a live audience of 100 million people. You'd think she would have been the first.

I think all of this is brilliant publicity for everyone involved, especially Janet. I hope she takes advantage of this whole mess and doesn't play the "poor little victim me" card - this could work out completely in her favor, and hopefully it's all just a big publicity coup for her next album.

If not...sheesh. rolleyes

I wouldnt call it brilliant.

Oh, and while you're all bitching Justin out, here's his side of the story.

Timberlake: Family Offended by Super Bowl
1 hour, 53 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES - Justin Timberlake (news) said Wednesday that his own family was offended by his racy Super Bowl halftime duet with Janet Jackson (news), but he insisted he thought only her bustier would be revealed when he pulled on her costume, not her breast.

Timberlake, in an interview with KCBS-TV outside the Staples Center, where he was rehearsing for Sunday's Grammy Awards, said he understood "how unfortunate this is."

"I do understand that there were a lot of people that were completely offended by what happened, including my own family. And I think that's probably the part that's frustrating the most for me and it's completely, completely, completely, regrettable," he told KCBS.

He also said he was frustrated that his character was being questioned.

Timberlake said that before the show he got a call from Jackson and her choreographer saying they wanted to do a "costume reveal."

"Now I was under the impression that what was going to be revealed ...was a red brassierre, bustier," he said.

He said he did not have time to rehearse the move before taking the stage, and was shocked at the outcome.

You remember the look on his face when he saw what had happened. What if she didn't tell him about the final outcome? His shocked look was a hell of a lot more genuine than hers. I think he thought he had genuinely fucked up.

Did he really say, "I don't need to do things like that to sell records"? Man, screw Justin Timberlake. What a dork. He should be kissing Janet's ass. His music is so derivative of the Jacksons (Michael, Janet, the whole family) except it's a mere bad imitation.

He's a punk.

clapping So Justin is implying that Janet does? Janet's a legend, and Justin will never be. I was a fan of his before these ridiculous comments he's been making.

tell me then, justin, why were you bragging about it when you were backstage?

fuckin' punk ass bitch.

That's bullshit. Justin knew exactly what was going on, and, like you said, he was bragging about it immediately afterwards to Entertainment Tonight.

I wouldn't say that Justin will never be a legend. Someone said that about MJ at one time, I'm sure.

Granted, his music is still derivative and boring.

Hmm..doesn't work for me. Guess my comp. sucks sad

But since he's a guy, he doesn't generally take his clothes off to sell records, so he's right in that respect. He's still a publicity whore.

Yes, and he's full of shit. Justin, MTV, and CBS knew about this, and that's all there is to it. I the FCC proves this when the do their little investigation. As for the Grammys, if Janet has been uninvited, so should Justin.

I don't know it, but I bet it's true. MTV was promoting a "Shocking Janet Moment" when advertising for her Superbowl performance, and MTV is owned by Viacom, which also owns CBS. Both stations are affiliated with each other, and MTV promised a shocking moment. Justin can play dumb all he wants, but he knew what was going to happen. If he's so concerned about his "character being questioned" (which was his quote), then he shouldn't have been practically simulating sex with her on stage and going along with a "costume reveal" at all.

Justin has proven to every entertainer that he can't be trusted with anything contraversial (not that i think the tittie was contraversial). He has shown them all that when the going gets tough, he blames those involved to save his own ass. He was probably that kid in school who participated in all the pranks but if he got caught he cried "he maaade me do it!"

I saw that interview tonight. Justin, no matter how sorry he is, he still has a part to play in this and he can't get out of this easily. I will say that he really did looked very sad by this and it's a shame that this happened, intentional or not.

It's NOT a shame this happened. Janet's got a great right tit. She should do "Playboy" now.

Wow,this scandal has really gotten out of hand.I just heard that Janet has been banned from the Grammys.I finally saw the whole performance, and I liked it,but it was probably inappropriate for a Super Bowl audience.Still,I think it's a little harsh to ban Janet from the Grammys, especially when Justin still gets to go.

The whole "new implementation of a 5 second delay" sucks, too. This country is SOOO full of pseudo-prudes it ain't even funny. The spontaneity is slowly being completely being sucked out of everything. Its starting to feel like the U.S.S.A. sad Oh yeah, punish Janet but let Justin slide, huh? Don't make me get black & white on this topic. fro
As a matter of fact...last year's Grammy's had some of the lowest ratings ever while the Mtv awards were watched by ZILLIONS! This little fiasco is going to draw attention to the Grammys. They should be THANKING Janet & Justin. The Grammys suck anyway. finger

Like David said, this whole damn thing has gotten WAY out of hand!! I mean, I really couldn't give a fuck! But to correct the original poster, it seems that Janet herself is probably pulling out of the Grammys herself, according to her publicist.
