the perfect example of early 80s funk, which typically incorporated searing rock guitar riffs & solos, bright- often very prominent synthesizers-as-horns lines & a cool, even arrogant attitude..

The Time

the group Prince created (back when he had enough focus & talent to write good material for others besides himself) but ultimately had to break up because they systematically out-performed Prince on the Controversy & (especially) 1999 tours..
