I agree he should get some type of award just alone for his lyrics. We already know he's got the chops!!! Was he considered for a grammy "serious"? for Wildcard?

The last grammy nomination I know of was for "A Change Is Gonna Come", still can't understand that he didn't win it mad

Sananda did a great live version of "O Divina" on his last 2 tours nod

I think it's probably his happiest CD yet. Great melodies through out the whole CD. Too bad he was not considered for a grammy this year! Fact: Elvis won 3 grammys...all for gospal albums.

There is 3(at least) versions of this album. There is the original configuration that you could download for free from his website. The second configuration (first retail version), then the third being the Joker's Wild Edition. Each having a slightly different listing of tracks. If you go to the site (listed above) and under Wild Card, it gives you the whole breakdown of all the versions (which songs are on which cd). This is a must if you dig this cd and need all of the tracks...There is always some kind of unreleased music there for you to download.

So if I loved his first cd, hated his 2nd and bout wore a hole in his 3rd, you think I should get this one? Just wondering if it's closer in style to 1 and 3 than it is to 2.

I'd say WildCard is a mixture of his debut (Hardline) and his forth (Vibrator). You hated the (Niether fish, Nor flesh)??? In my opinion next to Wildcard it's his best work!!! I didn't like it at first, but i listened to it more and more and it grew on me, it's just a work of art. Give it another chance Adoredabang1.

I would say that it is a natural progression from Vibrator. Definately the next level for TTD.

u know I have to come out of the woodwork when someone posts about the man, but yeh. Get the album those that haven't. Can't be stressed enough.

There are a few different tracklists for this album since he released 3 different versons. First version was the download version (the best song lineup, IMO. Paradise Postponed is stunning, a track that was omitted in the CD releases). Another verson of Wildcard followed which he later tried to suppress the sale of (record co/distributor was cheating him out of his royalties and sold the CD in territories beyond what was agreed on) so he renamed his final release "Wildcard: the Joker's Edition" with a slightly different lineup to distinguish it from that one.

All is explained with his thoughts and whatever on www.sanandamaitreya.com

Which means all true fans must buy all 3...or at least download the missing tracks online and spread the word about this amazing artist.

I hadn't heard a peep out of him since Sign Your Name. Just another one hit wonder. Then last year I see him on Leno doing some weird dancing during his song. I felt bad for him thinking they were giving him a break letting him come on the show and get his name back out there. Then it hit me that it was a helluva song (Designated Fool) and he still had the great voice-- raw and soulful.

About a month or so later I go to Best-buy with my brother and as I'm picking out my latest Ani Difranco cd he comes up to me with Wildcard just by chance and certainly in jest. My family gets a kick out of my musical tastes. Anyway, I remembered the song and decided to get Wildcard too. Needless to say I feel bad that I've slept on TTD/Sananda all of this time. Well I don't feel bad because I can enjoy everything now for the first time.

I can see that he might be hard to market and it's a shame, because he's truly talented.

I loved the 'weird' dancing smile Check out his other albums too.
Neither Fish Nor Flesh
Symphony Or Damn
Vibrator

The masses were scared off by Neither Fish Nor Flesh (it was too bold a departure from what came before it to sustain the most of the public's expectations and interest, IMO) and Sananda says Sony refused to promote it adequately. To me it's his best, but some hated the self-absorbed nature of it and the fact that it probably wasn't a very digestible listen for most looking for their pop fix. Symphony Or Damn and Vibrator are probably safer bets for the masses. Check them all out - I'm sure be blown away like I was.

I don't have the album, but I have listened to it a few times. I was feeling this one track but I forgot the name of it. It's an upbeat drum-n-bass style track. Joe, do you know what I'm talking about?

No, wait, I don't think that's the track. I've heard "Designated Fool" and that's not upbeat at all. I'm talking about this other one that has a techno/drum-n-bass sound.

OK, Joe, I found out the title of the song that I was talking about. It was "Driving Me Crazy". That's the one with upbeat techno/drum-n-bass sound. But yes, this is a very good album.

By the way, a little piece of trivia: Sananda was in this TV movie back in '99(I think that was the year) called "Shake, Rattle, & Roll". It was based on this fictional Rock-n-Roll group back in it's golden era in the 50's. That band had rubbed elbows with a lot of famous names, like Little Richard and Fats Domino. Another band they sang with was Jackie Wilson, played brilliantly by, you guessed it, Terence. Did you ever see that?

NWF,

Yes Driving me crazy is very cool! I never had the chance to see Shake, Rattle and Roll, But i do have the soundtrack and TTD's take on "To be loved" is beautiful. Maybe one day i'll catch it on VH1.

Yeah Cloud, that CD (NF,NF) has to be my favorite of Sananda's besides "Wildcard".

Has anybody downloaded Wildcard yet? Any thoughts?
