Hot Off an Incredible Superbowl Performance New Janet Jackson Song 'Just a Little While' Spreads Like Wildfire
Sunday February 1, 9:01 pm ET
Overwhelming Worldwide Demand Prompts Virgin to Immediate Digital Delivery Of Song to Radio Stations Throughout the World
Hotly Anticipated New Album, DAMITA JO, Will Be Released March 30th

NEW YORK, Feb. 1 -- "Just A Little While," a new song from the highly anticipated upcoming Janet Jackson album DAMITA JO, has created a firestorm of interest, starting in the U.S. and quickly spreading throughout the world. Although not officially chosen by the record company as the first single, the unauthorized Internet download of the track has created hysteria, from radio programmers to consumers to Janet's rabid fans. Due to the overwhelming demand and downloading of the single, the infectious song, co- written and produced by proven hitmaker Dallas Austin, will be digitally distributed to radio stations all over the world Monday February 2nd at 7 AM The song's release comes on the heels of Janet's triumphant return to the spotlight with her performance as the featured artist at today's Super Bowl XXXVIII, where she headlined the spectacular halftime show.

DAMITA JO finds Janet once again working with the hitmaking production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who have produced every one of her albums since the 1986 breakthrough, Control. The new album also features writer/producers Austin (known for hits with Boyz II Men, Madonna, TLC, and many others); Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds (Toni Braxton, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton); Rich Harrison (whose credits include Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" and Amerie); and hot newcomer Kanye West. DAMITA JO will be released on March 30th.

OUTRAGE AT CBS AFTER JANET BARES BREAST DURING DINNER HOUR; SUPER BOWL SHOW PUSHES LIMITS

**Exclusive**

Top CBS executives approved a musical skit where Janet Jackson would expose her breast during the MTV-produced Super Bowl half-time concert, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"The decision to go forward went to the very top of the network," a well-placed source explained from New York.

The groundbreaking scene came during the most-watched television broadcast of the year -- and during the dinner hour for the nation's west coast viewers.

In a press release before Sunday's game, CBS's sister outlet. [VIACOM's] MTV promised "Janet's Shocking Moments."

"I'll get you naked by the end of this song," sang performer Justin Timberlake, moments before he ripped off Jackson's top, exposing a bare breast -- the nipple covered by a tassel.

CBS's main New York switchboard was immediately bombarded with complaints about the stunt, network sources said late Sunday.

This is not an article it's a press release from Janet's management
I think it's overly hype, this song has yet to get me interested!
My sister who is a HUGE Janet fan thought it was a "Hillary Duff" song, but hey she needs to corner the pre teen market if she wants to have some success
However that Half time show!! Looks loke someone got the "green eye" after seeing Madonna and Britney on MTV
However will see if this works for Janet, hope she realises
although Madonna got press from her stunt, it did nothing for her record sales.
Janet has already appologised and said it was "an accident"
two words "Damage control"

I have an idea!! Lets trade in "publicity stunts" to sell records for "good music"??? Just an idea Janet??
well it least her surgeon did a good job on her chest

MTV.COM

I am sorry if anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance at the Super Bowl," Timberlake said of the incident. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."

MTV, which produced the halftime show for sister network CBS, issued a statement shortly after the game saying, "The tearing of Janet Jackson's costume was unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance. MTV regrets this incident occurred and we apologize to anyone who was offended by it."

Jackson did not release an official statement after the game, but her representatives told MTV News that she apologizes for the incident.

i'm not going to get into the janet-madonna thing. let's just say that when ray of light came out she said she regretted her angry phase...that phase being sex/erotica/body of evidence...she said she was angry and stupid and then she tried to explain it away.

anyhow...sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do to appease the masses.

Exactly. Janet never used the "I was young" or "I was rebelling" lines to explain her actions

I think it is very sad that a talented artist like Janet has lowered herself to tits and in "demand" statements.

She is scrapping as low as her brother now.

What happened to the days when the song sold the artist!?
