FCC to Investigate Half-Time Incident Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Powell on Monday ordered an investigation into the broadcast of the Super Bowl's halftime show, during which Janet's right breast was exposed, reports CNN.
"Like millions of Americans, my family and I gathered around the television for a celebration," FCC Chairman Michael Powell said in a statement. "Instead, that celebration was tainted by a classless, crass and deplorable stunt. Our nation's children, parents and citizens deserve better. "I have instructed the commission to open an immediate investigation into last night's broadcast. Our investigation will be thorough and swift." Earlier, an FCC spokeswoman, Suzanne Tetreault, said it was launching a routine investigation because it had received complaintsFederal indecency rules bar the broadcast of obscene material and limit the airing of indecent material that contains sexual or excretory references in a patently offensive manner to late night hours when children are less likely to be watching. Neither Janet, her record company, nor her spokesperson have issued a statement regarding the incident yet. [This message was edited Mon Feb 2 10:11:56 PST 2004 by theVelvetRoper] | |

Like America isn't a moral cess pool or something? A nipple isn't going to do anything. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.
