I think Joyce was some anonymous woman an Orger was using as an avatar. Don't know if Joyce is even the woman's name.

She looked a lot like Tootsie (Dustin Hoffman's drag character from that 1980s movie), right down to the permed hair.

Folks have been ascribing characteristics to her fictional life ever since...

Of course, I could be wrong and just missing the point of it all. With my luck, she's real. lol

Lol, she really IS real. We found her on a website on bizarre records, and Joyce was an artist who had an album there, and she "struck our fancy". What started as a joke is now a full-fledged obsession, and now we've been trying to get information on the elusive "Joyce" any way we can. The information that we've been posting is what has been investigated and discovered thus far, lol.

The website we found Joyce on: http://www.io.com/~dork/r...leeve.html

Joyce herself:

This picture was the only thing that we had of her for a while, and we, for some reason, gained a somewhat scary fascination with her. We're just now getting information on Joyce, thanks to our e-mails to the creator of the the Bizarre Records site.

Velvet is a true Joycehead but might not remember the original origins! Actually, this Joyce thing really started when someone posted a list of the worst album covers ever, which they heavily borrowed from Bizzarerecords.com, if you ask me. "Joyce" was an internet sensation before we discvoered her, with lot of people talking about that "Worst Covers List" all over the net. We goofed on most of the covers for a week but there was something about Joyce...The person that was really resonible for Joyce was whoever posted that list. Also, one order (I think his name was Cborgman) made her his avatar and signature (I only did one, thank you!), so those people along with fans like Velvet and Torn need to be thanked for making Joyce what she is today...which is of course...Joyce.

Again, it's a Joyce thing. You wouldn't understand!

No, I do remember that thread, actually. I've always been a Joyce fan! We definitely took it to another level, though.

And, yes, it was Cborgman that made Joyce his avatar! biggrin
