Kid Rock showed the world that ROCK is KING Once again, the stars of the pop, rap & r'n'b world showed us that they could dance their asses of, BUT when it came to the music it was Kid Rock who showed the world that rock 'n' roll is still and always will be KING of all music genres.
Most of you may not want to admit that, but come on, he actually performed LIVE, the rest was all lip sync (and pretty bad lip synching too (Nelly you blowed the worst)). It was a nice spectacle, but the KID should have been the centerpiece, he can do it all, and he can do it LIVE. If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

Kid Rock was lip synching, too. And I'm a HUGE rock fan, but Kid Rock is hardly at the top of the genre.

Kid Rock is an embarassment to music.

I'm telling you, he wasn't. And if he was, it damn sure wasn't as obvious as the others. At least he's about the music, not the image. And that is that. If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

Either Kid Rock wasn't lipsyching, or they did a great job prerecording a live version. Alot of the back and forth spittin' was right on queue and the lyrics were changed to reflect how he was "rocking the Super Bowl" I believe.
Yeah...EVERYBODY except Rock lipsynched that one. Well, Toby Keith and Aerosmith sang live too. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

And from this side, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk, among others, showed the world decades ago that jazz is the supreme form of American music. Rock wouldn't sound the way it does today without jazz. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

The influence of jazz on the improvisational, solo-driven nature of rock music is impossible to ignore if you're familiar with the genre. I never said jazz was rock's sole influence. But as I see it, it's kind of hard to argue with the last sentence of my post. Kid Rock was an embarrasement because I'm from Detroit.
For the record the city is not completely rednecks/trailer dwellers but you wouldn't know it from this artist. What's worse is that he's singing songs from 5 years ago, WTF?

You must be kidding! Everybody's set sucked ass. KR's only redeeming feature was that he at least came out with a full band and not a bunch of unnecessary steppers nd rappers and tape machines. Woulda got some cred if he actually played his freakin' guitar. thw whole song or bang a piano. Somethin' more musical than that caterwauling screech.
OH and it's blues that rock grew from; not jazz. The two forms are different. test

I never said jazz was rock's seminal influence. I said that jazz, with its improvisations and solo-driven nature, influenced the sound of rock. If you think differently, fine, but I'd disagree.
