Sat nite funk in LA Nu-Phound Nation residency continues
Straight from the Mothership, Nu-Phound Nation (Frankie “Kash” Waddy, DeWayne “Blackbyrd” McKnight, and Lige Curry) seeks out new frontiers in space and funk. Teaming up with master drummer/dancer Aziz Faye from Senegal, they’ve established a residency at Fais Do Do (5257 W. Adams Blvd.; 323-931-4636) called “Afrofunk Alchemy.” Each session will feature special guests, from members of the Pharcyde to Weapon Of Choice and many others. They’ll jam out, but these precision players don’t nod out, starting groove sessions that are smart, sharp, and sexy. The residency may extend, but for now you can catch them on January 31, February 14, and February 28th. Go to www.pfunk1.com/afrofunkalchemy for more details. test

Hello my friends, KCRW is presenting my show at the Temple Bar on Saturday night, January 31st at 10:30 pm. I'll be joined by DJ Baba G and Alien Chatter (Satnam, the tabla player's ambient groove project) and of course the wonderful musicians who play in my band, including DJ Sherlock on beats, Rebecca Raff on harp, Satnam Ramgotra on tablas and drums, Christoph Bull on accordian and piano, and Leroy Ball on bass. (special guests to be confirmed) We'll be doing some new songs, and preparing for tour dates opening for Cyndi Lauper. I hope you can make it. Wishing you all the best, Lili http://www.lilihaydn.com/ test
