michael:the same guy?

I listen to "blame it on the boogie" and "shake your body(down to the ground)" every morning now as part of my get-the-juices-flowing ritual."Blame" is such the bomb!!A perfect dance/disco/pop song.perfect,i tellz ya'!!!

it really is unfathomable sometimes that this is the same person i see talking to martin brasheer(sp?)!!!he sings"lovely one","rock with you","blame","your ways",etc.and then he is climbing in a tree house at 45 and seriously discussing having sleepovers with kiddies!!Mindboggling,i tellz ya'!!

I'mma play "show you the way to go" now in honor of that teenager I wanted to be.I'll try to forget the person he is now.

I have to admit, rockwilder has a point. When I listen to Michaels' old stuff ('Off The Wall' and those late-70s albums with his brothers) and when I think of the person that he has become,it kinda makes me sad and disappointed.I realize that we all must change and move on,but Michael takes it to a dangerous extreme, dontcha think?

disbelief when did things go so wrong?

No,I don't know Michael personally and you're right, maybe I really shouldn't be judging a person I don't even know. But you do honestly think it's the MEDIA that has manipulated us to believe that he's crazy?

After Thriller. I mean how could things be the same? This album and the popularity of it catapulted Mike to a whole new level of stardom that hasn't been achieve by many other artists. Along with the stardom came the huge amounts of money he has gotten from the Thriller album, The Victory Tour, Pepsi endorsements, the Sony Music Catalog etc The man has been able to buy and obtain pretty much whatever he wants. I think it gets to a point sometimes where you feel as if there's nothing that's you CAN'T have...This has been stated here before by me and other orgers...but Mike's artisty hasn't been the same every since 1983. On every album he's trying to reduplicate Thriller and it's not gonna happen.

And once again it will probably be 5 years before a new MJ album comes out..(that's if he's not convicted}. I long for the days of old (like back in 1976-1982) when Mike dropped an album every year (with his brothers or without his brothers).

Yea...I agree with everyone, if you would have told me back in 1980 that years later Mike would have to face child molestation charges and possibly go to trial, I would have SURELY laughed in your face and thought nothing else about it.

Tin foil hat required.

The media love Michael because he's so fucked up, and because people like to find frailties in celebrities. It makes us feel better about ourselves. We build them up so we can tear them down. If he were normal, then they wouldn't bother him as much. The media did not "create" what Michael is today. He does batshit loonball just as well as the next aging pop star with a blackendectomy, anorexia, a pet monkey named Bubbles, an estate called "Neverland", a penchant for "sleeping" with young children, and a magical disappearing nose.

The bottom line is: there's no one else like Michael, and there never will be again - in more ways than one.

THAT'S EXACTLY RIGHT!I am so glad that you judged me also.Thank you,GOD. Actually,my point was just as I stated. It's hard to believe it's the same guy.I was ,basically, thinking outloud and typing. It's amazing:good or bad.You can actually dialogue with me if you ever need to know something.I'm not a bad person and you shouldn't judge people based on random thoughts or posts. That is not exactly an enlightened thing to do.Have a cool day.

I always feel the same way---I know the even of Thriller changed him --was th e beginning..but still. The Dancin Machine root dancing MJ is NOT the same person who even did Thriller, before the deluge it created. Its like a totally diffeent perosn-persona

the shyness and whispyness was not 1976-80 MJ etc

He has a billion dollars, I don't think he needs pity or charity at this point in his life. If he feels like he's going to get convicted, he can just skip town, fly to France, and pull a Polanski for the rest of his life.

It's not as if Polanski has been without a creative outlet for the past 20 years.

Did you see "Mystic River?" I saw it last night, and your thread reminds me of the scene where David Boyle (Tim Robbins) talks to his wife about vampires and how, "David is dead."

Spooky.

Well he has never really hurt anybody (quite the contrary). Unless of course they prove that he is a child molester (won't happen IMO). He's not a bad guy. Just because he has a few issues doesn't mean he deserves to be hated like he is.

Mike's still got the funk. Just watch him at MSG in 2001 with his brothers.
