i truly hate this song but apparently I'm in the minority. It seems to be doing well on the charts and even Entertainment Weekly likes it.

I must admit that I do dig this song...and now I finally know who sings it...

Wait, wait, wait, is that the song where Jamie namechecks some old school R&B artists that he wants to listen to?
He's like, "Give me some Ready for the World and some New Edition.." or something? That song is too silly to be taken seriously. But aat least he honors the old school. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Yeah, well honestly, most folks on this site are in their own little music shell and don't expose themselves to the rest of the world till it's in their faces

I'm oldschool so...
Oh, and what about the line about the light-skinned friend who looks like Michael Jackson, and the dark-skinned friend who looks like Michael Jackson?

Man, I've never even heard this song because I hardly ever listen to the radio, but my friend keeps singing that part, and I can't get over how silly that is!! Clever, but in a silly way.

I loved it when I first heard it but since Twista's from Chicago, I've heard it fiftyleven times and am sick of it. Still dig the Michael Jackson part though!

It just hit me. This has been done before. Quincy Jones' 'Q's Juke Joint' album (1995). Had a song called
"Slow Jams" that featured SWV,Babyface,Portrait and Barry White. The song was of course, about slow jams.

I love this song also.
"She got a light-skined friend look like Michael Jackson, Got a dark-skined friend look like Michael Jackson." "She says she wants some Marvin Gaye, Some Luther Vandross, A little Anita, Will really set this party off right. "She says she wants some Ready for the World, Some New Edition, Minnie Riperton, Will really set this party (on fire?)"

When the cd first came out, it was in a digi-pak. Later when "Slow Jams" became a single, they replaced the SWV version on the album with Tamia singing Coko's parts.

I hated it in the beginning but it has its hooks in me now. I even know the chords on the piano for it. Scary!!!

I like it, but is it supposed to be a joke?

I like Kanye's rap and Jamie's chorus but I don't the Twista part. Can't understand him. My name is BISCUIT...and I am funky!

I liked it the first time I heard it, but now I don't care to hear it.
It's totally a novelty song with all those R&B namedrops, that it's almost a joke that you only need hear once. I never really cared for the skittery double-beat highhats either.
