Ella Fitzgerald's Scatting-HELP! I mainly have Ella's 40's/50's work and I don't recall any scatting pre4mances in them.
I think the 60's is where she began to get a lil' edgy(as far as jazz goes) yo know lol the non-commercial stuff that she did(and ENJOYED doing).U guys need to recommend a sistah a lil' sumthin' sumthin' from Ella where I could hear her bring a house down-low with her heavenly scatting. I always find my way back to the Verve material - songbook recordings - exquisite and timeless, so I'm no expert on her scatting - but I seem to recall her Berlin performance with 'Mack The Knife' etc might fit the bill.
