John Frusciante - Shadows Collide With People

I know there are a few fans of John Frusicante here on the Org. smile His new album Shadows Collide With People is coming out Feb. 24 (U.S.) and Feb. 23 (around the world). His site www.johnfrusciante.com has three of the songs to sample but for some reason I can't get them to work. sad Anyways I can't wait for this album. I really loved his last album To Record Only Water For Ten Days.

woot!

I hope it sounds good. The last one was pretty good too. But I very much doubt that he will get funky. His solo albums are usually weird, experimental, guitar based modern rock pieces. I still like them anyways though. The first album was like nothing else I've ever heard or nothing I'd expect to ever come out of the funky ass guitarist of the Chili Peppers.

Yeah, his first album was really wild and different but I liked it. I haven't heard his second album. It's pretty hard to find. I think I read somewhere that he had the album pulled because he wasn't satisfied with it plus he was hardcore on drugs at that time.

The new album is supposed to have Chad and Flea playing on it. headbang

I've never seen the videos for To Record Only Water For Ten Days but I think I heard that one of them was John getting hit by a car over and over again. lol I would like to see them though.

Yeah, that one was called "Going Inside" and yes, it was a funny video. When I first saw it I was like, what the hell is the point of this? lol

Anyways, I went to the homepage and listened to some of the new tracks. I must say that the new album is probably goint to be the best of all his work. These songs rock!!!
They also have a bit of an Alternative/New Wave tocuh to them, just how I like it. smile

I got the album last week and it's really good. It has somewhat of a By The Way vibe. It's probably his most accesible album he's ever done. I like every track with Omission, Second Walk and Cut-Out being my favorites. Omissions vocal harmonies between him and Josh Klinghoffer are amazing. I think I've listen to this album about ten times straight through so far. smile
