A Band that truly loves its fans

they love to release music to their fans.
they released every show they did on the last three or so tours on cd and they have now released a mega live dvd live in NYC with up to 3.25 hours of music. AND they have just released a double cd of b-sides.
they don't charge stoopid money for tickets and have by-passed Ticketmaster.
obviously a band that more artists should elarn from.

Thanks for posting this Milty. Pearl Jam are one of the most respected and loved bands in the World. They know how take take care of their fans and cater to our ego's. We ask and they keep giving more and more. I agree that more Artists should learn from them.

Actually can you imagine if every artist that toured recorded & released every performance the enormous amount of live cds there would be?
Should Madonna or Janet Jackson or any other showbusinesslike act bother to record their shows?
Would we want everyone one of Justin Timberlakes shows saved?
When is enough???

i love what Pearl Jam is doing with the live releases. I wish more artists would do that. Overkill? Maybe. But it allows people to get copies of shows that they went to... and to get shows with particularly cool setlists. Personally I think that Pearl Jam's music has gotten less and less interesting since Vitalogy, although I still buy all of their studio CDs, as each one has a number of good songs. But I definitely respect what they do for their fans. I agree, I can't think of an artist as fan friendly as Pearl Jam.

I agree,Pearl Jam deserves much props for releasing EVERY concert from their last tour.I once went to Tower Records, looked at their section and was totally shocked to see all those Live CDs.Although I'm not really into their music,I am impressed with their efforts to beat the bootleggers at their own game and give their fans so much music to enjoy.Talk about "flooding the market"...lol

I respect what they are doing, but, unfortunately, I can't stand their music - or Eddie Vedder.

Yeah why can't a group I like do this? What are my other choices? Duran Duran? The Who? I don't even want one live concert from these dudes let alone every stop on their world tour.

If ALL artists were like Pearl Jam, there would be no record contracts, and no master ownership.

So why do artist keeps re-signing to the big boys? Ease? Stupidity? Ignorance?
